And CRYSTALLINE SILICA is quartz dust. No one ever said the infill was quartz. So you don't understand the discussion. What the infill IS is 98% silica sand and 2% zeolite of from different sources. |
The person above specified crystalline silica..so I do understand. I am responding to her implication that the turf is made using this material. Bottom line, however, regardless of the content of the infill, the turf fields are done and being utilized. Not much you can do about that. |
Touché. I am going to remove my catalytic converter and do loops around Rose Hill. |

It’s a little pathetic that Rose Hill folks have to lie to convince people. People that live outside out Rose Hill are not that gullible. False info about MCPS budgets, safety of turf fields, lights causing accidents on I-270, heavy traffic on Falls Road, and lack of parking.
I’m waiting for a Rose Hill to start claiming that the earth is flat. |

Because? Odd how it's now illegal for teens to buy vape and cigarettes. Laws do change when children are in danger. It is happening today. Parents who are going to the Board of Education complaining about the injuries their children are receiving on artificial turf live all over the county, not just in one neighborhood. Hazards are eliminated through legislation. Montgomery County has even banned lawn chemicals. It is stunning how uninformed and uneducated the commenters on this forum are about Montgomery County. Commenters on this forum should really get out of their basements and get to know the County. Parents and athletes have been complaining about injuries and dangers of artificial turf for a long time. The world is a lot bigger than your basement! |

The age changed from 18 to 21. Wow, what a major change for something that is known and proven to cause lung cancer long ago. There’s no proven link that turf causes cancer even for the old tire grind infills. So I guess you will have to wait a few hundred years. “The earth is flat!” LOL |

| Are you hoping that MCPS/Rockville abandons the JWMS turf field and return the $2.4M back to MSI? Seriously, I’m truly asking so I can understand and maybe support your position cause I’m concerned what budget item MCPS will have to cut in order to pay back $2.4M. I heard that a few posters claim that the estimated $40K annual turf maintenance cost will come out of teachers’ salary. If this is true, then what will happen if MCPS needs $2.4M? |
PTA will have to step up! |
