| This weeks episode was kind of lame in that it only focused on rue and her addiction. I guess she was so out of it she couldn’t narrate the other storylines? Either way, an full hour more of her painful addiction plot felt tedious. |
| Last nights episode was incredible. The acting from Zendaya was Emmy worthy. The writing and storyline last night had us in shock and tears. How she told Maddy about Cassie. How she nearly ended up sex trafficked. Laurie's sweet school girl voice to get Rue addicted to IV drugs. I hope Laurie doesn't kill Fezco who vouched for Rue. |
OMG I could not disagree more. This was the best episode of the whole series. It was intense and riveting and wow the acting! Just incredible. |
+1. PP is the only one in the entire world who didn't like that episode. It was the best one of the season, maybe the whole show. It's not a feel good show PP. It's a show about addiction, maybe it's not right for you. |
Totally agree. Everyone was good in the episode and the emotions of the characters. Omg. |
That scene with her and Jules. When her mom says "I'm sorry baby" to Jules and she says "it's OK" I could feel how strong she was trying to be, but she was so broken. Listening to Rue talk about her dad, Gia listening to it all and silently shedding tears. Cassie F-ed herself when she said "One day at a time". "How long have you been F-ing Nate?" Maddy in Cassie's face "you're f-ing my ex boyfriend and YOU'RE crying?!" I need to rewatch that episode. |
| Yep, best episode so far. Still can’t stop thinking about it! |

Pp here who didn’t like the episode. Tbh I prefer the more relationship driven plots in the story, and prefer most of the other characters and their backstories. Yes, zendaya gave a great performance of a struggling drug addict and the extremes they will go to. But it felt like an after school special on addiction. if the show had ever been solely about a drug addict, I wouldn’t have gotten this far into it.
Spoiler disclaimer: To me, the best part of the episode was when rue said “Cass, can I ask you a question… how long have you been ****ing Nate Jacobs?” Maddy, Cassie And Lexi’s reactions were priceless. I can see why people thought the performance in last nights episode was a great one, but it did nothing to further the plot of the million other storylines after last weeks very eventful episode. |
This was an eventful episode. There hasn’t been an episode solely focused on the main character, Rue. It’s an episode fans were looking for and it was done very well. While I loved the Cass and Maddie part for the comedy that’s basic high school tv (ie Riverdale, Gossip Girl). |
Next week is going to be all about Maddie, Cass and Nate. |
|
How did I miss how Rue knew about Cassie and Nate?
Also, anyone else catch that Rue’s full name is Ruby? |
I look forward to the hilarious memes that will follow. |
Right before Nate broke up with her and then she ran off to the under-construction house. Cassie got into the car with Nate and Rue was walking. |
|
How long do people think that Rue was at Laurie's house? I have heard theories that it was just a night, but also theories that Laurie was keeping her drugged (and trafficked). It seemed like she was there longer than one night (multiple track marks, blood on the other arm in the scene where she tries to open the window).
Plus, there was that odd scratching coming from one of the locked doors, so maybe other girls were locked in there? Also, if it was just one night, why would she be so scared to get out? Or think she couldn't just wake someone up and leave? |
| So what is actually wrong with Nate Jacobs? How can he be a charming, good guy in the scenes with Jules and Cassie this week and have been such a monster to Maddy in the moments before? Even we he apologized to Maddy, it was chilling - like he thought it was all a joke. Is he a sociopath? |
