Euphoria on HBO

It was really good! I enjoyed Zendaya and her new friend Jules. Anyone else see it?

Is it super heavy drug use? It seems like it. I am interested but I just really don't enjoy watching things where people get high a lot. It makes me sad/uncomfortable. Not saying such things shouldn't be made just that they're not really for me.

Yes super heavy drug use. Some of it is trippy and some is disturbing (OD scene). There is a lot of disturbing sex stuff with the other teens. Reminded me of the movie Kids but with better cinematic effects. Zendaya is mesmerizing in it.

I would call it drug use but not super heavy.

Thought it was terrible. Trying so hard to be edgy and just gratuitous. Although I do really like Zendaya.

She is high for 90% of the episode!

I thought the sex scenes were more graphic than the drug use.

Agree--gratuitous. Felt like voyeurism, as if the director of someone was getting off on filming sex scenes and pretending "this is real life for today's teens." Stopped watching after a while because there didn't seem to be much storytelling point to it all other than showing the sex and drug use.

It very much is real life for some teens (not all but a lot). Parental denial is why this is real life for some.

Trainspotting. In fact it was like a hybrid of the movies "Kids" and "Trainspotting"
