There's an increase in men getting caught viewing/owning child pornography because obviously, there was no internet in the 1950s or whatever era you're comparing to.
It would be very interesting to find out if the availability of and/or the market for child porn has led to an increase in pedophiles actually molesting children. I do think that 50+ years ago it was more common for molestation to be swept under the rug more as a way to protect the poor afflicted predator than to protect the child. |
Oh come on. Your stupid threesomes were with consenting adults. Just because you have icky LEGAL skeletons in YOUR closet, you assume Pp's dad might be hiding child porn? You're really reaching here. |
Who knows for sure? I’ll go with the female teacher when the kids are little. |
| I’d be more concerned with after-school teachers(lots of them males) then a performer at a mall show. Parents aren’t with the kids at after school. They are with them at live performances. |
|
I took my DD to see Mr KK almost every weekend at Borders in Tysons Corner in 2004-2006. While he was definitely singing to the kids, I saw no evidence that he was doing anything inappropriate. Hugging sure, but toddlers like to be hugged.
I think the difference is 1) in the 1970's Child Porn was not illegal, 2) now, it is readily available on the dark net. |
| I think blaming an industry is not appropriate. People don’t stop taking their kids to school when a teacher has been charged with something horrible. Unfortunately, in this world, bad apples are everywhere. |
For those who said Mr. Knick Knack never got close to kids, umm this looks pretty close to me.
There are kids all over his Facebook too. He even has a song called ‘Give Somebody A Hug’ - which could easily be a child grooming technique. |
No excuse for what he did. Child porn is absolutely horrendous, and a crime, but it’s a reach that at these public shows, he’s personally done anything to the kids, except betray the trust of who they thought he was as a person. He’s not left alone with kids at these public shows, as parents are everywhere, so him grooming to physically harm them, he wouldn’t get away with it. He’s not isolated, with them, it’s very crowded at the picture you just showed. |
The point is he has a position of trust with these kids and has for years. As one parent on this thread already stated - they took their child to see this man every weekend for two years straight. That establishes a closer relationship and recognition pattern than kids have with their own grandparents. I’ll be very curious to see what the police investigation further turns up. |
Actually, I have read that there are fewer molestation victims than there used to be because of the widespread availability of child porn. Reporting laws, I am sure, have also helped because sex offenders can't get access to kids the way they used to. |
Thanks. This is exactly how a “groomer” speaks. Parents beware. |
