Thoughts on legal sex work

Sex should be with someone you love.
This must be a crass, grossly immature person and I would want nothing to do with them.
Stomach turning.

Everyone is not like you.

BTW. If a guy shows you what he is... believe him.

This reflects my experience ... the two guys who admitted this to me were definitely "off" -- but that's not to say it's completely incompatible with OP. OP just needs to consider this information in the context of the whole relationship.

BTW one factor certainly is the way he told you and how he expected you to react, and how he reacted to YOUR reaction. He has a right to feel how he feels about it -- but in my opinion, a man with any kind of sensitivity would realize that this could be upsetting to his girlfriend to hear, even if he felt like it was totally fine. If he was careless about how he told you or acted like you were wrong to want to know more or be upset or understand his views about women and sex better, then that would be a big red flag to me.

If you count massage parlors, strip club back rooms in addition to paid sex in brothels and hotel rooms I would guess the rate of men who pay for sex workers is at least 50%. Women underestimate how men view sex. So sure, dump a great guy who was dumb enough to admit this and find the mediocre guy who denies looking at porn and can adequately lie about other stuff

This. It is probably much higher than people imagine and crosses every class level. Think of all the high priced escorts in major cities. Somebody is paying them.

I'm a woman. I wouldn't trust a man that was willing to sleep with prostitutes anywhere legal or not.

+2

If a man is reasonably handsome, he has no reason to pay for sex other than to play out some control/power thing. No thanks.

Meaning we should want to be in relationships with these men?

That has almost nothing to do with it. Everybody has insecurities. Don't believe it? Look at Hollywood.

So? I go to strip clubs with my husband, and would look at him totally differently if he told me he’d slept with a prostitute. Why?

I had an ex (after we were exes) tell me he hired prosititutes to give him head. He was handsome and in his twenties, but definitely had issues. His admission of this further confirmed that for me.

+1. Didn't actor Hugh Grant get caught with a prostitute some years back? The guy was gorgeous.

I seriously doubt this. Most men don't have the dosh to spend on paid "companionship".

They don't pay the woman for sex; they pay her to go away afterwards.
