What are shows that everyone swears by that you can't get into and why?

I have never seen an episode of Game of Thrones.

Schitt’s Creek gets funnier the longer you watch it. It is a little corny but that’s the point.

I just recently binged all 5 seasons. I think you over time start to appreciate all the characters quirks and how they affect others. It is corny, but I just find the fish out of water story amusing.

Yes, so good. They could have easily stayed at a stereotype and cheap laughs level, but they actually went pretty deep and the characters start to care about each other. It’s so well done.

This is Us (I gave up after Season 1)

SAME, PP!

Have never seen an episode of GoT and do not want to

Never got into The Office

This is Us - I got through season 2 but just barely. I quietly judge anyone who is still watching.

If you have “never seen an episode” you can’t say you “couldn’t get into it.”

Try reading. It says "never seen an episode of GoT and don't want to."

Then how do you know you won’t like it?

LOL, I’m another non-GOT watcher.

It’s not broccoli, and I’m not two years old. I don’t have to try it to know I won’t like it.

I don’t like action or violence or fantasy or drama. So no, I’m pretty sure I don’t have to watch it to know I won’t like it.

Nothing in this thread requires us to have watched x episodes of something before deciding we can’t get into it. I can’t get into GOT because the premise doesn’t appeal to me.

They’re just not funny at all to me. I like julie Louis Dreyfus but think veep is not funny at all. Friends is just cringeworthy in how corny and unfunny it is.

I love Julia Louis Dreyfus to the moon and back but I could not get into Veep either. I did watch a few episodes unlike GoT (am a PP from above).

Curb Your Enthusiasm. My husband thinks it's the funniest thing ever, but I can't even get a chuckle out of it.

Glad to see there are other people who don't like Big Bang Theory. I truly cannot see what people see in that show. It's not funny, it's not relatable, and the writing is just terrible.

Well it’s been on for 12 seasons, so maybe it’s you.

I’ve watched the series several times. Love it but dislike the first two-three episodes for this reason. The rest of the series is dark but not what I’d call gratuitously violent. Give it a chance. The tone changes after first couple eps.

Just because it's been on a long time doesn't mean it's good. It obviously is popular, and no matter how many people like it, I stand by my opinion that it's just about the worst show that I've ever had the displeasure to watch.

That Charlie Sheen/Jon Cryer show was on for a long time, too

Doesn't mean it was good
