Private & Independent Schools
| Not to mention, the statement that "STA's facilities as part of the Cathedral close are unparalleled" is completely inaccurate as well. Have you have been to Prep? They have, by far, the best facilities and campus in this area. |
Nice try. But wrong. Bullis was where I attended, almost 30 years ago. |
This seems so far fetched — coordinated effort? Bullis is a great school with a lot to recommend it! If your kids are happy there, who on earth cares what this board says? Literally, nothing is gained by winning DCUM. Saying that, please don’t trash other schools either. Sidwell, Cathedral schools, GDS etc all have things to recommend them too. We are all presumably too old for the “he was mean to me so I can be a jerk back” defense. This thread was about academics. Period. I thought people were trying to provide helpful info to the OP about academics — the OP admits he/she is singularly focused on academics, not facilities, outplacement, sports etc. Can’t people be civil on the internet? Maybe it is time to lock this thread please. |
| It may have intended to be about academics but it fell to the prestige-whores who hate Bullis. Plus, the comparison of Bullis with a bunch of single sex schools is a bit specious, no? |

my child doesn't attend Bullis but we did visit--depending on your child, it really does have almost everything you could want from a program. I think it's reputation as low tier is unfair and feel that size and it's ability to accept more applicant makes parents feel like it's lees exclusive and less competitive. |
This is the embodiment of our philosophy and we are not Bullis (nor Big 3) parents. There is no way that the # of Ivy graduates was even part of our children's metric when they were evaluating schools. As parents, our priority is that our children grow to be strong, confident and happy adults. |
