Prince Charles' 70th Birthday family Portraits

Did anyone else wonder why Camilla's kids/grandkids are not included in these family photos? Isn't this the norm for combined/remarried families? Him, her, his kids, her kids, all their grandkids, etc.?

Do you think Camilla feels weird in these types of pics with just his kids (etc.) and not hers?

Love the pictures. Kate's dress is horrifying. I didn't know you could channel the Duggars for $1200.

I guess for official royal photos it just isn’t proper to have step-children especially if they weren’t raised within the royal household. No matter how Charles feels about them when they married her kids were all adults with babies of their own.

And interesting comparison to this is Norway’s royal family. The crown prince married a woman in 2001 who had a five-year-old son. He’s basically raised him but the boy has no title and is treated like an outsider by the press - even blamed for security threats.

He looks just like her, is included in photos but treated very differently publicly which is no one’s fault I guess.

That dress could easily be mistaken for something a nanny would wear. She doesn’t look like a confident princess but I guess it doesn’t matter.

Funny how everyone is looking off to the side during the relaxed second photo except Charles, William and Meghan. In fact, she is doubled over as if to appear like she's in on the funny off-camera scene with the others but she's peering into the lens. I don't really have a prroblem with her but she does come off as being more crafty than she pretends to be.

I actually think Kate’s dress is cute. I like polka dots, though. I think the collar is what is freaking everybody out. But Duggarish? Nope.

Why would an official portrait of the royal family on The birthday or the future king include kids he didn’t raise/nonroyals? That makes no sense.

If you’re gonna get nasty about the arms, I noticed Charlotte’s arms are looking pretty bare. That trollap. /s

I could have typed what you said too. But I like Kate’s dress even more. It’s just a “look.” And she wears it well. The other lady who wore it had an even more retro look with the same dress, I think bc of the hair up and/or gloves or something. Can’t remember.

Also, on Camilla’s grandchildren...once you get to step grandchildren it is NOT a blending of families. It’s very rare for my mil to share her other side kids in events with us. We do ocassionally. But that’s when she is at the center of the event. Otherwise she divides her time. No way we would all take a photo together.

Not a fan of the sleeveless dress. Not so much that it’s distracting as much as it’s not seasonally appropriate and doesn’t fit in with the other outfits. But maybe the pics were taken a couple of months ago.

The kids are wearing short sleeves, shorts, and bare legs. Is that seasonally appropriate?

I like both Kate's and Meghan's dresses. They suit their respective styles.

Can we talk about the men? Harry's overall style has gotten better since Meghan but both he and William are well-built and can pull off more fitted suiting for an occasion like this.

Beautiful pictures and everyone looks wonderful. I'm sure there are other pictures out there with Cam's side of the family but why would they be released to the press? Cam's kids are private citizens. No need to release a family picture with them.
