Obviously, they go to tournaments where there are recruiters, and the recruiters are smart enough to look at (and care more about) the performance of individual players than whether or not the team won or lost.

How proactive is the VLC college recruitment coorindator?

You need some perspective. Many of their previous teams did extremely well at tournaments. But that's not the point. Doing well at tournaments is not a prerequisite to getting kids recruited. College recruiters couldn't care less who wins a game or a tournament. They are looking for individual talent.

VLC is one of the few clubs around here that consistently gets kids to college. Even their 2019 isn't that great, but has something like 14 kids already committed. The key is joining a club that has a track record and plays in the right tournaments to get exposure. The guys running VLC are pretty good.

How is 2020 recruiting going? Good numbers posted for 2019s, though alot from lower D1 and D3 schools I think not that there is anything wrong with that.

Suspect 2020 will follow suit, although there may be a few more high level D1s in the mix.

2019 is probably their least talented team. 2020 will have much more success.

What's the assessment of the other hs teams, 2021 and 2022?

You mean like meeting with the players to learn of their college interests or making calls on behalf of players. Nope. He’s a skilled coach and decent guy. But proactive he is not. I guess he figures VLC players will get looks and commit on the basis of the VLC name. Other programs without the name have recruitment coordinators who have to hustle more.

They did pretty freaking well for little talent.

VLC sells itself. Still, in this evolving landscape, VLC can’t rely on its name alone to get their kids recruited. The Duke commits will be the get the offers without any assistance. The real test is whether the 10 after the top 10 will get quality offers. Not sure whether VLC can deliver in that regard. Contrast with Madlax. Lots of naysayers, but even there bench gets quality offers.

CNU seems to take a lot of VLC players. Is there a coach-connection?
