To add, I couldn't tell you the rankings of other programs not at my sons' age level is. |
thats kind of sad you cant even tell that about your own kids team? First off, its called USClubRankings. Look it up. Very easy to see where clubs are ranked. |
Nut job. |
| You’re the nut job to be so out of touch with your kids club. You may as well quit now. Sorry for your son. |
| He can't quit..he works for VLC |
| I heard from one of the coaches that King Crab is shopping his club around to some of the Private Equity firms. Any truth to this? |
| I call bs - there’s already too much travel lacrosse for this area to support. No one wants to get into this market. |
| True got some PE money. Maybe they can merge the 2, call it True Crabs. |
Wasn't True always PE or at least private money? How else have they bought like 20 clubs nationally? Also, haven't followed club teams in a while. Is VLC separate or part of True? I thought it had merged or something like 2 years ago. What's the overall layout of club teams these days? |
VLC is part of Baltimore Crabs, has nothing to do with True right now |
Thanks for clarifying. Perhaps I'm muddling some older history and maybe rumors from the time. |
Cavalier Lacrosse merged with VLC teams brining B teams and dad coaches and really lowering the bar for the club. This was about 4 to 5 years ago. They are starting to recover with young teams but really cost them at 2027-2029 |
| I would never invest my time money and energy into Cavs/VLC again. Hindsight is 20/20, but foresight from others experiences is golden. |
For those of us with young kids in this program can you give details on why it was a waste? We’ve been very happy so far. |
I was one of the unfortunate parents whose kid got caught up in the CAVs merger. It was one of the worst experiences I had as a parent. The disorganization, how badly tryouts were conducted, the forced merger of teams / it was really hard to watch your child go through that. I hope that terribleness is over. Structurally the problem with VLC is it’s connection to crabs. When we were there - crabs dictated what tournament VLC teams played in. which often meant that VLC teams, which were really not very well coached and often times under staffed, we’re not in appropriate tournaments. Basically, we ran into a buzz so competition that our kids were just simply not ready for.. this crushed the kids confidence and really made the parents not want to be on those teams anymore Admittedly, all this information is several years old and I hope they have solved these problems |
