What is life like inside Buckingham Palace?

Yikes.

Am I the only ne surprised by this?!

This is something I’d expect to see in Camilla’s apartment, not Kate!

This might be a “work” room and decorated differently than the rooms they really live in. Their home isn’t like ours- it has 21 rooms . I’m sure some of them are more for official duties and formal entertaining.

Does anyone know what happened to Lupo? He was papped frequently with Kate until basically in 2013 when George was born, then nothing.

Me too. I love her style, and I think she is far prettier than Diana was.

Why?

Kate is nothing but very traditional and conservative. She is not modern, she will not be a trend setter following the latest fashion. Her tastes strongly reflect the 1930s-1950s upper class styles, both in her clothes and her interiors. It is rather appropriate for a future Queen. And she seems to be the one who likes it and wants to be this way. Anyone who expects Kate to be glamorous like Diana is going to be disappointed.

Because it's so boring and fuddy duddy! It looks like something Camilla or the Queen would put togehter. It's very possible to be classy and yet modern and interesting, especially if you have access to the best interior designers in London.

Plus those paintings are super fug. I don't care if they are original. There is nothing aspirational about that room to me.

To those defending Kate's decor:

I'm not a Kate hater by any means. I usually love her personal style with her hair and clothes. BUT come on, you have to admit. That's not a room that is going to be featured in Architectural Digest or Elle Decor or even something less prestigious like Domino.

At least it's not super ugly like Diana's sitting room though.

I can see it being in AD. Maybe with just a little extra styling.

It would only be in AD because of who they are. We're all interested in what the living spaces of these palaces really look like.

But come on, it would need a LOT of extra styling to make it on its own merits and not because one of the world's only real princes lives there with his wife and family.

Several of these are equally boring:

They're all better than what's going on in Will and Kate's room.

They all use more colors and textures to create visual interest.

Will and Kate's room has none of that going on, just fugly original art and furniture (the royals' version of family hand me downs).

The photo of William’s + Kate’s home inside is lovely.

Everything is so neat, clean & tidy.

Not a thing out of place in that room.

My favorite piece is the coffee table.

Most people would tidy up a room if Barack and Michelle Obama were coming over, royal or not.

OH GOD I just rewatched the clip of Obama joking about Prince George meeting him in his bathrobe and I’ll just be crying into a bottle of wine and google imaging “obama with babies” for the rest of the day.

Which one do you think is worse or just as bad as Will and Kate's?

I think they're all miles better.
