Kim came in as the highest listed actress. SJP was the main star and always reminded kim of that. I don’t think SJP is as nice as she seems

+1 IF SJP wanted to reach out, she could have done it privately. But she didn't. She did it in a public way to look sweet.

I don't blame Kim for calling her out.

PP but not to this comment. I feel like SJP is on the Jennifer Garner wavelength- maintain positive public persona so no one knows how nasty you really are.

Yes!

This sounds pretty shitty. I don't blame Kim one bit.

Instead, SJP and Cynthia Nixon both posted condolences. Kim responded to CN with: 'Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out. Love Kim #SexandtheCity.

Then responded to SJP with: I don't need your love or support at this tragic time. My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?” Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.

Wtf, Kim? I get that you're grieving, but that seems completely unnecessary.

OP, is it really a feud if it's so one-sided?

That kind of tells me that SJP really was a b*tch to Kim during the SATC days and that Kim feels the "reaching out" SJP does is just for show.

Perhaps.

I get that she is going through a difficult time, but she simply could have chosen not to respond, instead of lashing out in such an ugly way. There is something to be said for keeping a dignified silence.

I agree. Or perhaps she could have channeled her anger by privately messaging the same words to SJP, instead of publicly, for all the world to see.

Why would you say Jennifer Garner is nasty?

DP. SJP took their communication public. Not Kim.

Regardless of what's going on between them, you don't make yourself look like the bad guy by publicly writing something nasty to the person who sends a kind message of sympathy. Any catfighting should be private, not aired publicly. Kim should have either ignored SJP completely or privately told her off.

Except Kim posted it on Twitter so that is how Cynthia Nixon, SJP and other celebs responded.

+1. There are a million threads on DCUM saying it is better to express condolences than not.

Right after my father committed suicide, I said some awful things to people that I regret to this day. I was completely unhinged due to the grief and shock I was experiencing. I feel as though Kim is going to regret saying what she did to SJP, even if she was justified on some level.

And if SJP hadn't commented at all, then Kim would probably have used that against her: "You never even sent your condolences when my brother died," etc. Of course, SJP could have privately sent her a message. But still.

The woman lost her brother, apparently to suicide. She's lashing out in anger and grief and frustration. Leave her alone, geez.

I'm very sorry about your father. Your reaction was very understandable. I'm so sorry.

That’s your opinion. And we’re all entitled to them. She doesn’t look like the bad guy to me.

Totally agree. It’s just so sad that SJP lost Kim’s number and had no choice but to do it performatively.

Thank you, that's very kind of you. I'm also the PP who said that although it's understandable that Kim flipped out on SJP, it's too bad she wasn't able to do that privately because I imagine she'll regret it one day, when she's thinking more clearly.
