Instead she did it publicly, because she wanted to look like the good guy.

But that's what celebrities do. They all communicate via Twitter.

I read that her other costar who played Miranda also responded to her Instagram and Kim thanked her.

Which means it's personal between Kim and SJP.

Diva fight. They both thought they were the star.

It's possible that Cynthia Nixon wasn't as nasty to her.

Seems pretty class-less to instigate a fight when someone simply states that they are sorry for your loss. Even if she thinks SJP is insincere in giving her condolences, Cattrell has very little class to be so venomous in response.

Cattrell just looks petty and small in responding as she did regardless of whatever history they have.

+1. She could have just ignored.

Miranda should hate her life at Big Law. She should be sick of the sexual harassment and being screwed over by male partners. She should be sick of her bartender husband who contributes nothing financially. She should be stressed out by NYC private schools and kid drama. She should be 10 pounds overweight, and she should wear yoga pants and athleisure.

The brunette should be uber stressed out about NYC private school drama. She should be engaged in mommy wars. Sexless marriage. Her husband should be cheating. She should have a fling with her ex in a moment of weakness and get pregnant. Then he should tell her he's gay.

Big should be struggling with alcohol and opioid addiction due to his old man back pain. His business ventures are failing, and they need to downsize and cut back. Carrie grapples with having to move into a one bedroom walk-up with only one closet and having to be nursemaid to old man Big. Lots of whining about how this wasn't the life she signed up for. Aiden is very successful and happily married with a handful of kids. Carrie reads about him in a profile in Architectural Digest, and she's shocked that he is ridiculously wealthy with homes all around the world. She runs into him on the street with his oldest child and she wonders what her life would be like had she stayed with him and had kids.

Samantha is MIA throughout the entire film. There are references to her through phone calls and media coverage of her glamorous life. She's too busy traveling and dating an A list actor (think: Pierce Brosnan/George Clooney). Sadly, 2/3 of the way through the movie she dies in a car crash thanks to paparazzi (a la princess Di). The girls come together for the funeral and take stock of where they are, whine about their boo hoo problems, and ultimately realize that Sam lived her life to the fullest to the very end...and only the good die young. They make a pact to put themselves first and agree to dump their husbands. Carrie moves back to her old apartment, Miranda gets a rental in the city, and the brunette still has her fabulous apt.

The gays make an appearance near the end of the film. They're happily married with children and have a perfect NYC life. Thx girls are a little disappointed that the gays aren't up for partying, and for a moment they wonder if they made a mistake. Nonetheless, they preservere and continue to go shoe shopping and have brunch...just the girls (who are now old ladies), single and "fabulous."

I love this!

She is grieving and can do whatever she wants.

SJP chose to make the communication public, not her.

Cynthia Nixon is possibly running for office. She can't afford to alienate anyone.

There has been a suicide of her brother, who she was apparently very close to. I'm not going to judge her behavior at this time.

Do either of them have a rep for being nasty? I’m not sure who to believe.

I think Kim Cattrall is getting a bad rap here. Everyone wants to focus on what she did and not why.

Kim Cattrall wanted to do a SATC movie when the series ended. The movie was delayed. She asked for more money. It was leaked to the press that she was "demanding and a diva" and she was the reason for the holdup on the movie. She deserved to be paid exactly what SJP was paid for SATC. Full stop.

Fast forward to the second movie; rinse and repeat. They try to publicly malign her in the press because she wants more money; money that she deserves.

Third movie... Kim Cattrall says "I don't want to do a third movie." Now all of a sudden it is in the press that she "has all these demands. she wants money. they have to fund her projects, etc..." She goes on Piers Morgan to refute that report and state that her only demand was that "she didn't want to do a third movie." Why take the time to tarnish her reputation by leaking stories in the press? Why not just make the third movie and move on without Kim Cattrall? Why continue to ask her to do the SATC movies if she wants more money and if she's a diva?

SJP et al are fully aware that Kim Cattrall IS SATC; without her the franchise isn't as successful and the movies do not generate as much money, etc... So instead of risking failure, they publicly shame her, put future opportunities for her in jeopardy, and try to turn everyone against her. And based on the stories of Queen B SJP's behavior on set during the series, all of this is believable.

Kim Cattrall's IG post was basically a nail in the SATC coffin and a big FU to SJP so she will go away and leave her alone for good. At 61, she's tired of giving phucks about what people think; especially when she knows that SJP was a bitch to her and is probably behind all of the bad press that she is getting. #TeamKim

Why? She's not a producer.

Kim Cattrall has apparently studied at the Rose McGowan Institute for taking what began as a legitimate grievance and milking it into a blank check for loudly abusing anyone who commits a minor faux pas.

Just came here to post about this.

I don’t think so. To me, it seems pretty clear that she just doesn’t want to be friends with SJP. I think it might be time for SJP to drop the Public Displays of Friendship.

I think that’s probably true, but more importantly, Cynthia Nixon wasn’t Kim Cattrall’s boss. Sarah Jessica Parker has been an executive producer with creative control since season 3 or so, including the movies.
