Is this an emotional affair?

How is he dealing with this woman/situation at work now?

And you?

OP here. After their initial conversation on Monday, he told me he tried to avoid her. He said he organized a team lunch out today and purposely excluded her. She confronted him this afternoon and said he was making a big deal out of nothing but by acting so out of the ordinary he was calling attention to them. She told him to "forget about it". I almost feel like my DH is still caught up in it while she doesn't even seem to care about him at all. To clarify my original post, I think she's just ok looking but when I look at what she's accomplished and her personality, I can see why she would be attractive to him.

She's right. If he's now excluding her this could be a future harassment claim.

OP here again. Whoever mentioned "trickle truth" earlier has got it right. Now DH admits that at the last bar they were at where the waitress seemed uncomfortable, they actually "barely made out" but there was contact. What does that even mean? He says it was nothing and the OW seems to have completely forgotten about it. I feel like I am too old for this drama and my DH is so immature. I want to forget about it but he keeps slowly adding more details to this story.

Yes, trickle truth.

Tell him that he is dragging this out and that bringing up new details, bit by bit, is just making the situation worse. And let him know that he has just one last chance to tell the full story.

Good luck.

Barely made out? .....nope, don't believe that.

Push for more details.

Um if they "barely" made out, why was the waitress uncomfortable? Waitresses working in bars aren't nuns -- they have seen people kissing and aren't phased at all. What does he mean "contact" -- like beyond making out?? Were they really going at it and he was trying to say unhook the woman's bra right there in the bar and that's why the waitress looked uncomfortable??

OP's creative writing game is strong. She is having fun with a little "trickle truth"-style of her own... building in cute little "I can see why he'd be attracted to her" nuggets (twice before anyone bit on this one, actually!)...and now with the "barely made out" addition to the story here. Seriously, no guy is going to "confess" this to his wife in such a way as to make it sound as though he just casually shared with the wifey that he is puzzled why the waitress was uncomfortable since they only "barely made out"-- as though he would have no concern at all that his wife would have an issue with the "barely made out" descriptor. Nope.

The whole thing is a cute test run for some bored person's version of fictitious drama...and I think we're just being lured in one little "trickle" at a time.

It was entertaining to read though. Troll value: 9/10

I totally agree. Next we will hear how she barely went down on him.
