And a presidential candidate's team having policy talks with Russia is not political, it's a matter of national security.

Flynn’s name was leaked.
Others have not been, to my knowledge, but judging from what has been said about this story, names do appear in the documents that Nunes and others have seen.

You're assuming that the leaks may have come from the American IC or someone from the Obama administration. That would be a bad assumption. We know for a fact that multiple European intelligence agencies tipped off the U.S. IC and have copies of phone calls and emails. Anything that is crossing the undersea cables or satellites are getting sucked by GCHQ. Small Baltic states also have communications (they are really adept with computers, ya know).

The question remains.... why were the names unmasked? What was the reason? And, why did Rice claim ignorance when asked about it?
Rice has yet to respond to requests for comment.

This is looking very bad for her, and several others.

No, it doesn't look bad for her.

2. If the unmasking was done by Susan Rice (and it is appearing more and more like it was), why did she claim last month that she “knows nothing about this?”

And, note that she has remained silent since this information has been revealed.

3. What was the reason for the unmasking? Because, if it was purely political, she could be in deep trouble. She has some ‘splainin’ to do.

4. And, the million dollar question - Who leaked names to the press? This is a felony. And, I am sure if they identify that person or persons, he/she/they will be prosecuted.

5. Obama has to know this. There is no way that Susan Rice didn't brief him. When did Obama know this is the million dollar question. If he had known the unmasking and monitoring before he relaxed the intel sharing rule in January, Obama will have Watergate on his hands.

A President was spying on his incoming replacement, that's a problem. No wonder obama went to hide his head in the sand. Ugh oh.

It was only going to be a problem if Hillary lost. Wait a minute ....

You guys simply cannot focus on the actual issue.

Yes, Obama knew about this, or some of it, at least. He made sure everyone knew when he changed the rules.

Right. Obama might want to extend his Tahiti vacation.

Time will tell.

No, the president wasn't spying. The IC was? doing their job, following the rules, etc.

This news gets no coverage on CNN, NY Times, Washington Post ...

No wonder people trust wikileaks more than the fake MSM.

If a political story isn't being covered by CNN, NYT or Washington Post...then it's not a story.

You got it backwards. This is a huge story. Sadly ABC/NBC/CBS didn't have anything to report either. The media in our country is no better than some third world propaganda. They are in the business of reporting news and facts not choosing what to report.

Seriously, people wake up. Yes, if Rice unmasked and then leaked names, that is illegal, but let's not excuse the treason involved with having thousands of Russian trolls working on behalf of the Trump campaign to provide disinformation to millions of US Citizens to sway votes and cast doubt on our society.

And, what do you think they are doing now? Do you seriously think that their only goal was to get Trump elected? The intelligence report that was released even said that they expected HRC to be elected and their goal was to marginalize her. Do you not think they are working to marginalize Trump right now? You are falling right into their hands.

The Atlantic has a pretty good summary of the issue here -
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/04/did-susan-rice-ask-to-unmask-trump-officials/521688/

Among other things, article includes this quote:

“In a situation where there’s incidental collection and it appears that they’re discussing U.S. incoming or current officials, it would not be unusual for a national security adviser to try to understand what it is this foreign government is trying to do to manipulate their position against the U.S.,” said Nada Bakos, a former CIA analyst and national-security commentator. “That’s how the game is played.”[\quote]
