In February Cohen-Watnick discovered Rice's multiple requests to unmask U.S. persons in intelligence reports that related to Trump transition activities. He brought this to the attention of the White House General Counsel's office, who reviewed more of Rice's requests and instructed him to end his own research into the unmasking policy

This most assuredly relates to Trump admin communications with Russia and/or Turkey currently (and at time) subject of fbi investigation.

Some alt-right guy on Twitter claims to be the original news source of this info (site is medium.com). He posted it yesterday and Bloomberg appears to have gotten the info from him. Not really a reliable source.
