Thank you!! I know this is DCUM, but the hotel's decision to put secondary locks on the doors is totally and completely out of my control. I'm more concerned about WHY someone would think it's acceptable to enter a hotel room at all at 8am with the guest still in the room

They probably assume travelers use the "do not disturb" sign AND also lock the extra interior lock (as most travelers do). I'm sure that the hotel woman was as surprised as OP. She will probably file a complaint herself.

Weird that they assume that in a place that does not have interior locks. Strange.

What was the name of the hotel brand OP? No reason not to share it, you will not reveal yourself.

Man here. One time I was staying at the Key Bridge Marriott. Maybe 8pm and I'd just had a shower after a workout and I was naked on the bed watching TV and the maid opened the door and walked right in. She saw the whole package. Oh well! Hope it made her day.

LOL! At least it wasn't that bad! What did she say/do when she saw you?

Which hotel chain is this?

To me knowledge it's not apart of a hotel chain. At least, it's not anywhere in the hotel logo and no brand names on any of the interior items (No ____ by Fairmont on the notepad or anything)

It's a nice hotel (or so i thought) in a major city, and like I said I am on the 18th floor.

If someone is in a room without an interior lock (if that even exists, never seen it and travel frequently), you would expect some to be especially likely to use the do not disturb sign.

So which hotel is it? If we google it will we find that it actually does have extra locks? Is that why you wont tell?

Yes, because I'm terrified of you guys finding out that it does in fact have secondary locks and I just refused to use them. Which, of course, is a capital offense

So the DCUM trolls can find my TripAdvisor account? I don't think so. I've been on DCUM a long time and I know the level of crazy here
