Someone came into my hotel room at 8am

And she doesn't even appear to be a maid. When I asked her if she could restock the kleenex, she said she didn't have any.

She was holding a clipboard.

What the f. So sick of hotels doing this.

You didn't bother to ask who she was?

You don't lock your door?

Use your slide/chain lock in a hotel? Always.

You mean that's not the first time? Put the do not disturb placard on the door handle and use the chain lock. Problem solved.

Did your door not have a security latch?

Yeah I did! That's what makes it worse- she just used her key and unbolted it!

How about- let guests sleep past 8am before barging into their room? Problem solved.

Or you can just do your due diligence and take 2 seconds to slide the latch, which I would do regardless of when I was planning on waking up.

The door didn't have a latch, it had a bolt, which I locked. Thanks for your help in the thread, your input is no longer needed. Take care!

OP didn't get the required sympathy so is going to take her ball and go home.

Yikes. I'd buy one of those jam-type locks typical for 3rd world county hotels. There are different styles, but typically jam the door shut so no key / lock will let someone in.

WTF kind of hotels are you staying at?

Did she apologize at least?

A nice hotel, according to TripAdvisor! Staying on the 18th floor. I won't be staying here anymore though!

Yikes is right!
