Please gun supporters - explain to me once and for all why you need an automatic weapon

Because law-abiding shooters who use their guns to shoot at targets at a gun range don't want to spend all their range time reloading magazines when they could be shooting. It's the same concept as getting a big bucket of balls at the declining range instead of the three that come in the box.

It's not nearly as nefarious as gun control advocates make it sound.

So then rent the guns and shoot them there at the range. Don't take them home. You still get to shoot and the guns are not available to the public.

I am completely, 100% ok with law-abiding shooters using their guns at a gun range having to spend a little extra time reloading. I think we should only sell magazines with individual bullets, frankly.

And then no criminal will ever have access to guns, because they clearly will follow this rule and so many guns used in crimes are obtained legally!

Fewer. We're not shooting (ha) for none. That's impossible. Fewer.

Do you get an exception if you live in a high-crime area (e.g., downtown Chicago, parts of Detroit where the police just don't come)?

But then you have 100% bad people with guns and 0% law-abiding people. I'm not sure that is a move in the right direction in the same way that overhaul of the mental health care system and more fulsome means of addressing the issues in the minority youth communities.

I am completely, 100% ok with a lot of stuff that probably goes against your beliefs, but that doesn't mean it should be law.

And BTW, magazines aren't sold with bullets. They are sold empty, and you have to load them yourself, with bullets you buy yourself.

When the radical Islamic terrorists detonate a dirty bomb in DC, how many of you pro gun control people will wish they had a weapon to protect their home and family?

None. If that happens we'll be dying of radiation poisoning

I am completely, 100% ok with women having to get transvaginal ultrasounds and permission from the baby's father before undergoing an abortion. Actually, I'll trade you the second amendment for the 14th. Does that work for you?
