North Carolina and Transgender Bathrooms

Anonymous
"90 percent of these diverse patients had at least one other significant form of psychopathology” reported Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, Department of Psychiatry in a 2009 study of transgender outcomes at their clinic. In other words, 90 percent of the patients were suffering from a mental illness that gender surgery did not alleviate.

61 percent of the patients treated for cross-gender identification (359 people) had other psychiatric disorders and illnesses, notably personality, mood, dissociative, and psychotic disorders according to a 2003 Dutch survey of board-certified Dutch psychiatrists.

A 2013 University of Louisville, KY study of 351 transgender individuals found that the rates of depression and anxiety symptoms within the study “far surpass the rates of those for the general population.” About half had depressive symptoms and more than 40 percent had symptoms of anxiety."

this is not all about just predators. There are perverted voyeurs that know how to stay just from crossing the line. We are not talking about rapists here, merely perverts.

Fine, then start lobbying for single stall restrooms everywhere. Problem solved. Of course you have to make sure that some perverted landlord or restaurant owner hasn't installed cameras in the bathrooms, which happens a lot. Perverts are always somewhere.

Why dont you come up with a solution that protects the rights and safety of all bathrooms goers, men, women, transgender men and women, children, handicapped, parents with opposite sex children, babies who need changing tables, etc etc. Offer some solutions, please.

Sure. Separate bathrooms for those who gender identity issues. Otherwise, men and women separate. Simple.

What about gay men and lesbians? Genitalia based?

Of course.

Are you implying gay men are not men? Women are not lesbians?

And then said a-hole guy gets suspended for s couple of weeks because he's not transgendered. No need for pearl clutching. It seems joever thst most jurisdictions don't have laws criminalizing entering a bathroom or lockerroom designated for the opposite sex. In fact, it's white common for female sports reporters and trainers or other medical staff to be present in the lockerroom. Conservatives once again have found a solution in search of a problem. It's a non-issue.

I'm a pretty open minded guy here. If any woman thinks this is a good idea, you are crazy. Misogynists will use this to torment you to no end. Sorry to the transgendered, but there are too many wierdos out there.

You really are unbelievably naiive.

Do you think that there's some test for being transgender? You just have to say "I identify as a woman, I always have" and BOOM! You're in.

Here's the thing. If someone assaults or harasses someone else in the bathroom, it doesn't matter what gender the assaulter is. If they are cis* or trans*, they would still have assaulted someone. So, no, a man dressed as a woman would not be able to get away with an assault by claiming he's trans*.

Trans* individuals would not "display their genitalia" if they're using a bathroom stall, just like cis* folks. They would go into a stall, do what they need to do, come out, wash their hands, and leave. Just like you and me. If there are genitalia hanging out in a purposeful way, security should be called, whether that person is trans* or cis*.

Check back with me when male reporters are allowed in female locker rooms when the ladies are changing (the guys just don't give a shit about woman seeing them naked).

These laws make it far easier for perverts, voyeurs and predators to get access to female bathrooms and locker rooms, and far more difficult for businesses, schools and offices to remove them and protect women and girls.

It's not just about toilet stalls.

What's it about then?

It's about predators and misogynists invading you/your child's locker rooms in high school and at your gym.

Pooping in my yard isn't legal, even if you identify as a duck. (Just as assault is illegal in a bathroom whether you identify as a man or a woman.)
