BLM=Black Lives Matter has nothing to do with 8-10 people threatening robbery with at least 1 knife. Get real. Our people and police not supposed to do or say anything because it isn't PC since a suspect or criminal might be black? Do you think victims might never be black?

Irrational fear of black males. Stop associating black with crime and violence. You will be happier if you work past/through your bigotry.

NP. Nice try. Profiling happens for a reason and, while there may be some bigotry involved, it's also based on frequency of occurrences - i.e. fact.

And herein lies the rise of Trump:
Archetypal Liberal: How dare you assume 10 dudes strolling Tenley in ski masks are going to rob anyone?! #BLM

Sheesh. There is a difference between common sense and racial profiling.

This doesn't have anything to do with BLM though. Stop being dumb.

Frankly, I'd like to see a bit more "harassment" of the unruly kids in the Tenley Metro and the flash mob that knocked over the Georgetown store about 10 days ago. We don't need mob mayhem and more muggers.

Me too. Harass the cursing unruly monsters - black white or purple. Behave.

Has MPD made any arrests yet?

You won't get one. We have applied and been denied.

You should apply for one. Once you're denied, you should both try to convince the Heller attorneys to take on your case pro bono. The second amendment protects the right to "keep and bear" arms. In Heller, the court rule that DC could not eliminate the right to "keep." The court now needs to rule on the right to "bear."

A law abiding citizen worried about being attacked by a group of 10 masked assailants while walking his dog alone at night makes for a sympathetic plaintiff.

I think it was a personal matter (the victim was targeted by other kids he had a problem with). It just seems implausible that 10 ski mask wearing teenagers would randomly rob another teenager. Or as an earlier PP suggested, maybe it's not true.

The other recent robberies in the area do seem random though and scary to me as a female who walks through that area from the metro after work...

Except that the same group or a subset of it apparently robbed someone also over on Butterworth near 46th.

How do you know it was the same group or a subset?

It happened roughly in the same period as the other one, in an area where such occurrences are rare, certain crimes committed by a gang.

You come across like the attorney for the thugs. Are you?

"...certainly crimes committed by a gang."

I've lived here a long time and this sort of thing happens EVERY MONTH on a street of brick Colonials near either Wisconsin or Connecticut. The trick is to have it not be you. Odds are, it won't be.

And to the loser new arrival millennial with the hackneyed "pearl clutcher" epithet ....

1) you're from suburban Cleveland, Montclair, NJ, or Westchester County. So STFU

2). You live in a micro condo in "Shaw," and you pat your not old-hen self on the back for that street cred move, but you wouldn't have lived in Shaw in 1995. Shown a picture of 1995 Shaw while you sat in your Muppets pull-up in Montclair, NJ, you would've clutched your pearls.

3) You are aging every moment, the same as the rest of us. Unless you get early onset breast cancer, you too will grow old [/spitting sneer]

Items 1 and 2 made me love you...not so much #3.

DC wont give permits to carry to anyone. I would say they are playing very fast and loose with the law.

• Park in a well-lighted space, and be sure to lock the car, close the windows, and hide shopping bags and gifts in the trunk.

• Deter pickpockets and purse-snatchers. Don't overburden yourself with packages. Be extra careful with purses and wallets. Carry a purse close to your body, not dangling by the straps. Put a wallet in an inside coat or front pants pocket.

+1. Trump is the only one so far daring to confront the crazy BLM screamers. Sanders and Hillary just caved into their screaming.
