Robbery in NWDC, near River and Western

The neighborhood list serv said there was also a robbery at 47th an Butterworth. I was out walking my dog when these happened (I live 1 block away) and I have to say this is scary to me.

I can't even tell who is being sarcastic at this point, but an armed robbery by 10 armed and masked assailants is legitimately terrifying and not at all "pearl clutching."

It's also not new, however. This kind of crime has cropped up in Upper NW/Bethesda/Chevy Chase occasionally over the years and then the perpetrators are caught (or not) and folks go back to their normal level of feeling safe.

Also, the idea that you can't know someone's race because they are wearing a ski cap suggests that this person has never seen a ski cap before. There IS skin showing. It isn't a burqa.

There are constantly robberies outside of the Friendship Heights metro station and around the stores in that area. What are you talking about?
