[quote=Anonymous]For the denier(s) and apologist(s) out there, please see the following from the MPD 2nd District: Attention Second District Community Members On yesterdays date 12/06/15, PSA 202 had a series of incidents involving a large group of young males, in where 2 citizens were accosted and robbed. The first incident occurred around 8:45 pm in the 4400 block Davenport St. NW. The group of males surrounded the victim, took out a knife, went through the victims pockets, and removed property. The suspects then fled. The second incident occurred around 9:00pm in the 4600 of Butterworth Pl. NW. The group of juvenile males surround the victims and told them to take everything out of their pockets. The victims then yelled at the suspects and fled on foot, without further incident. Please be cautious during this Holiday season. Please be on the lookout for suspicious activity and report all suspicious activity to the police. When out walking the streets and enjoying your holiday shopping, please pay attention to your surroundings and try to stay off your cell phone. Also try to use the following safety tips during this Holiday Season. • Stay alert and be aware of what's going on around you. If you witness large groups of teen or adults, wearing masks, covering their faces, roaming alleys, attempting to cloak their presence in any manner call 911. Please, “See something, Say something.” • Park in a well-lighted space, and be sure to lock the car, close the windows, and hide shopping bags and gifts in the trunk. • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash; pay with a check or credit card whenever possible. • Deter pickpockets and purse-snatchers. Don't overburden yourself with packages. Be extra careful with purses and wallets. Carry a purse close to your body, not dangling by the straps. Put a wallet in an inside coat or front pants pocket.
