Would you buy a Range Rover?

Style and comfort but probably not the most reliable.

Yes, the GL is nice. And quite a presence as well if you get it in white with the chrome bits.

Still, though, the RR has a recognizable and distinctive shape. I'd say the closest comparison would be the G wagen, another "classic" truck that is very popular and cross-shopped against the RR.

I agree. GL is much cheaper than a RR too. They used to be similar in price, but RR is $90k now. Not worth it, IMO.

You think? I just tried to build a GL450 and wasn't even past the audio customization screen before I hit 80k. I'm sure if I would have finished it would have been around the same price or at least in the ballpark. Not sure how this would be better than a Sequoia or a Pilot. What else would you look at in this "large SUV" class?

Please don't call these "trucks," it just makes you look like an idiot.

No. The price of maintenance would make me hate it.

I'm a car guy. I think the people who make big deals out of what qualifies as a truck are the true idiots.

I don't make a big deal out of it, I just live on a farm and drive, you know, an actual truck. When you talk about your truck and them walk out to your SUV you just lose all your man credibility with me. And I am a woman. I will from that point forward always assume you tell fish stories. And if you can't take a man at his word, he isn't much of a man. Just saying.

Did you hear that PP? Crazy farm lady doesn't think you're a man!

RR is uninsurable in Britain because it's so easy to hack their keyless entry system.

Not close to an equivalent. Not a luxury vehicle.

Right...luxury means being in the shop every other month. That's why they have to have nice waiting areas with free drinks and shit.

Not OP, but I actually wanted a Honda Pilot until I went and looked at the 2016 model. Ugh. They really have made it bland and minivan looking now. It's actually gotten worse with every update since the original body style in my opinion. Same with the Pathfinder. They both look like minivans now.

Heehee, lets hope the day doesn't come when her son or son-in-law doesn't drive a uni-body SUV and casually utter the words "my truck" at the thanksgiving table.

I leased a RR. Fantastic, when under full warranty. amde a massive error and bought it post lease. BIGGEST. MISTAKE. EVER. Spent easily over $10K on repairs before selling it.

Just dropped my DC off at top three private. There were 6 RR in driveway at same time. I see more RR in this city than any other luxury suv. Also on Nantucket this summer. I have to assume that most , not all, of these people who buy or lease these cars are not stupid. They are smart enough to have good careers and afford this lifestyle.
