My dad's comments about my weight are truly making me dread his visit

Did you not get enough rest last night? Liver spots much!! Take better care of yourself okay? I'm worried about you Grandpa!!"

Trust me this works.

If he brings up your weight to others (as my lovely dad does) I interrupt him and say wow doesn't dad look like such a grandpa now? You know wrinkles, liver spots, etc?"

Well I'd think if it worked he's STOP bringing it up. But I do think this gives you back some of the power of where the conversation goes...

It immediately causes him to change the subject or walk away. Instead of harping on my weight he says "I don't look old!"

OPs dad is a narcissist as is mine. He doesn't understand boundaries and thinks that OP's alleged weight gain reflects badly on him. He doesn't underst and that it hurts her feelings and no explaining will ever convince him of this. Mess with his fragile ego right back!

I know the feeling, my dad does it too. Everyone else says my weight is fine (some in my family say I'm getting too skinny), but if I want a second serving of anything my dad immediately cuts in "you'll just get fatter if you eat like that". Then, he won't let me eat less and tells me I shouldn't try to lose weight! I can't wait till I'm a legal adult, he does a ton of stuff like that and I really don't want to visit him anymore.
