DC Public and Public Charter Schools
I have been at lotteries where despite the best efforts of the staff either they left someone out OR someone was in it twice. In situaations where they left someone out, they may put in #s in a hat 1-the last person on the wait list. They pick a # and that is where they put the person they left out. |
| Quite a few of our HRCS cohorts got top 20 spots. Sad to see some go (if they get in). |
Do you mean that people in your HRCS for PS3 were top 20 for LAMB for pre-k4? |
| It is so fascinating to see what names are popular in DC |
Yes |
But I thought there were only three spots for PK4, so unless they are in top three, they likely aren't moving I would think. |
| How HR is the CS if everyone is lotterying to leave? |
There is more than one HRCS. They may be at #2 but Lamb was #1. |
Agree! |
| Bump |
+1 Also, a lot of older parents with all of those twins. (Either IVF or the ovaries going out in a blaze of glory with all guns firing). |
Lots of young parents need IVF. |
There's definetly something to say about the names. Some are very weird while others are creative. |
Not that at all. People move because of commute. I may be at LAMB but live next to MV. I still want Spanish immersion, but would rather be at a different location. Or you might be at a news conference non-immersion like Lee when you wanted immersion. The mindset that there is a "number 1" or best school is naive. There might be a best for you, but if you want chinese and hate Montessori - LAMB is a horrible fit. |
| That is clearly what the previous poster meant. |
