DC Public and Public Charter Schools
| I may out myself if I list my lottery number. Oh well, hopefully we get in somewhere decent from the common lottery. |
Some people in schools already did the lottery and do not want their current school to know. |
The school knows if you did the common lottery. I think most schools could really care less. Because it was posted here that there were 1st and last names posted I looked. It was interesting to see how many in PreK3 from my HRC tried for LAMB. |
Exactly why they shouldn't have posted that info. |
Meh. Competition. I'd move for LAMB or YY. One of those is now out of the running. One less hard decision to make. |
| I don't think any of the kids from our Spanish immersion Montessori preschool/daycare got into the Spanish immersion Montessori. Sigh. |
| Does anyone who got into LAMB know how long you have to decide if you are going to enroll? Anyone know if extra spots sometimes open up over the summer (for example if they under-estimated how many kids would return for the next year). |
That's how the Ward 1 State board rep claims to have gotten in last year...twins among what was it 550 for 11 Pk4 spots? |
| I, for one, find that I am relieved we got a ridiculously high number with zero chance of getting in. It's such a great school that we had to apply and would have gone, but our commute would have been a giant nightmare. And now on to the next lottery, where we will hopefully have much better luck! Congrat's to all who secured a slot, and best of luck to all who are still looking. |
| Anyone know how far into the PK3 list they are likely to go (after the first 27)? Any chance for someone 20 or so slots later? |
|
My third disappointment with Lamb. For my older kid, we got #742 for pk3. I think he might have been the very last on the list. We got #4 for PK-4, and I was on tenterhooks all summer, but evidently there was no movement--he never got in.
Now, my youngest is well into the 200s.... |
Very unlikely |
| Last year I went to the lottery. They have me a number (on the 300s) Few days later when I checked the results online I had a different number (not very different, but different by a single digit up or down) |
A difference of one or two numbers could be that a student got into a higher grade and a younger sibling moved up to the top of the wait list. |
Your kid got bumped by a sibling. |
