Nice. You know the best way to convince them of your point of view is to namecall, right? Oh, wait.

I know multiple families who are at Nysmith, live in McLean (Starbucks) and go to the Lifetime in Reston. Ugh.

Why do you all think that most non vaxxers just choose not to for the hell of it? How do you know it's not for a medical reason? You all are so quick to judge...

We got the phone call from the Health Department and my DD and I were both exposed last week in the most recent case. Seems we were at the pediatrician the same time the exposed child was. We are both vaccinated and I was told we have no cause for concern unless we show symptoms. Still scary. But no restrictions on us except for look for symptoms. Please vaccinate your child if it's a choice. Adults too. if you haven't been vaccinated, do so.

PP has your child gotten the booster or just the first dose? Did the health dept say anything about how that
affect the effectiveness of the vaccine?
Anonymous
This is PP. My child got both shots including the booster. With both shots the exposure is consider "no risk". There's always that crazy 1 - 2% that you hear about getting it after the vaccine, but not usually with the measles.

Hopefully these anti-vaccine parents kids will get really sick or die of the disease that could have been prevented and they will reconsider their selfish and stupid stance on the issue!

So would south riding pediatrics have advised these families NOT to travel due to the risk of not having the second dose and visiting a country with higher exposure rates or a relative with measles?

You're hoping that unvaccinated children will die from vaccine-preventable diseases, because that will teach their parents a lesson?

Think about that for a bit, maybe.

Those children are no less precious than your own.

New poster here. Of course I would not wish that on anyone's child, but it's Darwinism at work. Weakest do not live long enough to procreate.

Perhaps next time you could stop before the "but".

The thing is, I actually take care of my precious children, unlike anti-vaxxers.

It's like leaving your children to play in traffic (except it can also kill random bystanders!). Those parents aren't protecting their children at all, and are endangering so many fragile, ill kids.

The careless parenting decisions would suggest otherwise.
