If you all just keep reposting everything from the thread I deleted, I'll simply delete this thread. To the PP asking about family obits, someone posted a link to an obituary of a family member of the subject of the thread. Someone just reposted that here, but I removed it.

Well, someone on the earlier blog posted the truth about Muffy, i.e. her given name (not the faux preppy names she uses), this image that she has created for herself, blah, blah, blah.

This is the Internet. If you don't want people to call you out as you really are, then don't create a personal blog, Facebook page, Twitter, etc. Or, if you do want to create your idealized image of yourself, just own up to it - or people will call you out.

What in the world did family obits have to do with "calling people out"? And again, to "call someone out" from a place of anonymity is cowardice, and this isn't the platform.

I was talking about stating the truth about a public person on the Internet. Kind of similar to someone pointing out that a photo of a celebrity on the Internet has been photoshopped. What's so bad about that?

I'm afraid OP would flat out threaten you at that point! I'm the one that brought up the obit, sorry. I didn't post the link though.

I am the "Google Sleuth"...I just saw this thread. I did not start this thread! but I do want to mention that I am not a "crazy stalker"..Honestly. I am a married mother of three who lives very far away from Muffy. I am a journalist by training and it took me not much time at all to discover Muffy's read name, etc. I just enjoy research on the computer. I do like her blog but I had a feeling that she was not authentic and so I did some googling and lo and behold, my hunch was correct. So her husband Clark Wezniak has nothing to worry about!

"Google Sleuth" here..I just want to emphasize that I did not start this thread and I never called Jeff a coward. When i saw that the Muffy thread was deleted, I asked politely why it was deleted in the "website feedback" thread.

I had to give away my google secrets, but I will...I have often found out helpful information by googling the person's name plus the word obituary...This is a good way to find out what family connections the person has..Another good google sleuthing technique is to use the person's name plus "alumni" and that usually generates info from high school and college magazines with updates on the person's career, etc, esp from before the internet age.

I am a journalist and an attorney. i have no personal interest in these people except that google sleuthing is sort of a hobby of mine AND I am from new england and read the Preppy handbook in high school..so I know WASPs and Preps, etc. I attended Milton Academy...but I am Irish. I like Muffy's blog and I am interested in Preppies...But it seemed like something was "off" with her blog and I know from personal experience that true WASPS don't really advertise themselves or their old money and so I guessed that they were poseurs. My very first google search was probably "Muffy's Aldrich's true name" and her true name immediately popped up. I purposely did not reveaal her address even though I was easily able to find out from Zillow that she lives in a very ordinary house. All of this sleuthing took me maybe 1 - 3 hours tops. But I do have to say - as an experienced reporter and attorney, I am very very good a google sleuthing. I am also obsessed with Ancestry.com and I am really really good at that too. I am harmless! I do think Clark Wezniak is prob. a sensitive jerk. I am not his stalker. I live on the west coast.

Google Sleuth here -- I also recently read Tad Friend's book "Cheerful Money" - so I was sort of having a moment of obsession with WASPs etc!!
