"You don't have a creative bone in your body." Said by my mother.
I am in a creative field and have since won international awards for my work. Still hurts. |
|
I regret your perception.
You have such a pretty face. |
| Marry me |
When I was in college, my hairdresser talked me into "baby bangs." A cute look, but one I suspect that few women can actually pull off. I certainly couldn't, and it was the worst haircut of my life. When I got home, two of my roommates were trying to console me when the third one came in and said, "Oh my God! Who butched your hair??" I'll never forget those words. Those bangs took forever to grow out. |

Most of you have gotten off easy if these are the MOST insulting things you've ever been told.
In high school, my male best friend said, out of the blue, "You're fat." I said, "What?", feeling bewildered. He clarified, "I mean, you eat a lot." The weird thing, though, is that he was in love with me, so I learned that people don't always make a lot of sense. I had some douchebag frat boys make comments about my weight at parties in college. After I had gastric bypass surgery, a crazy ex-boyfriend told me I'd always be a fat girl down deep. |
| 22:56 here again. I just remembered a friend told me anyone off the street could do my job. |
| My best friendsmom is always calling her fat and telling hef to lose weight. Shd constantly says "You used to be so pretty, I wish you could be pretty again" |
| I got the pixie cut way back when. An older boy says (to a bus full of students), "So you are a lesbian?!" |
Are you serious? Not to minimize the hurt you felt from comments that had been made to you, but there has been MUCH worse mentioned on this thread than "douchebag frat boys" calling you fat. That's just par for the course when you're fat, lady. And FYI, sounds like your male best friend was just stating the truth when he said "you're fat". Clearly his delivery/thought process was way off, but fat is not the worst thing to be. From one fat woman to another (former or not), I recommend you look in to the fat acceptance movement. |
Maybe she thought DS was adopted, perhaps without much information about the father. |
A random stranger spat on me while crossing the street, simply because i am brown skinned. This was right after 9/11 and I was heading back to office after seeing my infant at daycare, during lunchtime. I was disgusted, shocked, scared and confused, lost..it took me a long time to reason out why he may have done this. Probably the only time I have wished bad for someone. |
I'm sure she knows. You're an idiot just like him. |
To clarify, I didn't mean that my examples were worse than everyone else's. Just that some of them aren't insulting, like, at all. |
| You're crazier than your mother |
| My (attorney) father, when I told him I was leaving law school, it was not for me: "What are you going to do, sell aluminum siding?" |
