No way! Martha is the real deal. She has minions that run around and do a lot for her, but she is 10000% capable of doing it by herself, and probably 5x better.

Well, I guess that answers my question.

To be clear I'm not comparing their quality. I'm comparing the image they project of "Oh hai I just whipped up this lil' ol' thing off the top of my head and yes of course my house is spotless."

But Martha did whip it up that morning and her house is spotless. She is the very definition of control freak perfectionist. PW is just a hack.

Then you are not very good at reading. What you could take from what several posters have said about Ree Drummond - married into the 17th largest landowning family in the country - has pretended to have a regular income. That's not genuine, and it's not because she's rich; it's because she is choosing to be deceptive.

Exactly how was she trying to hide the fact that she is rich. When I first started reading her blog and she was talking about her husband's family's ranching business and how it had been in the family -- I FIGURED THEY WERE RICH!!! hell they have 4 kids, I pretty much hoped they were not dirt poor. What difference does it make ? These are reality shows, a lot of it is contrived. Do you think that all the kitchens in these shows are the home kitchens of the host? Do you have even an inkling of what it takes to put on one of these productions??? You don't put together a set and then take it down every night .

Agree that PW is a hack and Martha is a control freak. But they both have a ton of help.

I guess I'm one of the few who figured:

1) she was rich

2) not everyone of her recipes was stellar

3) she had some sort of help

I mean who the hell thinks that one person does all of that...but even if you have childcare or household help doesn't mean you don't do things for your family....cook, clean...whateva! I don't get the feeling of being duped...must be some really dummies out there !!

Well, you are clearly a genius, which explains how you managed to get such a good deal on exclamation points. I assume you buy in bulk.

Eh. I don't hate her with the fire of 10000 suns or anything, but you have to admit that it's not like she's just letting people assume she does it all on her own. On her blog, she actively cultivates the persona that she's doing this on her own, isn't rich, etc. It's not just a lie of omission, she's clearly pushing a fake persona. Which, whatever, but it is kind of gross.

I never, ever got this, never. I always assumed she had money -- her family has a huge ranch that has been handed down for a couple of generations, that says money. The ranch is huge, says money to me. I think people just assumed that because she was on a ranch and did not scream "money" , that she did not have money. I honestly think a lot of people duped themselves. I just don't get it.

Well, I assumed they had money, but they're like bajillionaires. And frankly, it's not so much that they have money so much as it's that they have staff doing the homeschooling, the cooking, the cleaning, the ranch work, blah blah blah, but she pretty explicitly claims to be "doing it all." Like I said, not the biggest deal, but it's pretty off-putting -- like when a blogger writes a whole post about how much they LOVE their new, I don't know, toothpaste, and then at the end, you find out that they got paid by the toothpaste company. It doesn't ruin my day or anything, but...ew.

I hear you, I don't know, I just always figure that you are not getting the "entire" story, but I work in TV so...there's that. I don't find her "ew" though -- I never had any expectations of her.

I can see that. To clarify, though, I've never seen her show. I've only read her blog.

I don't love or hate her, but I must say that Marlboro Woman is a few cigarettes short of a full pack. Anyone who makes a living, hobby, passion, purpose , or obsession from stalking/hating someone is nuts. All the time and energy she's putting into hating on PW, that heffa could have cured cancer by now. IJS!

I like the MW, they call it like it is. But I don't see where the site owner is putting in overtime to expose the fake Pioneer Woman. Some weeks, there's only one new post. Nor have I observed any stalking or hating. People post their honest opinions about the PW and this site offers them a forum. If you try to post anything critical of PW on her site, she deletes it. I don't understand the thought process that if you disagree or criticize the party line, you're immediately labeled a stalking hater. Go figure.

Hmmm...the idea of starting an entire forum to display your dislike of someone -- yea that's stalkerish to me

Yeah. Who maintains a site with the sole purpose of pulling back the curtain on a cook (!) on TV (!)? Who has that kind of simmering hatred for a person on TV? It's sick.
