The Pioneer Woman -- Love her? Don't love her?

I liked her when she had a blog only.

I like Ree Drummond. I used to read her blog a long time ago but I haven't read it as much lately and I have only seen one episode of her show, but I do like her. I think she is smart and nice and a wonderful writer and photographer. I don't think she is fake and I think all her critics are mean.

I enjoy her show and her recipes. I also love Ina and wish I were her friend, so she could cook for me!

Ha, she does cook up some unappetizing food. I have never seen her make anything I would consider making. Another one is Trisha Yearwood. Some of her recipes seem like they came off the back of a bisquick box or a can of soup.

I have been a longtime fan of the blog but t the show seems just weird, like it doesn't flow very well and she seems to be a bit awkward when on camera. I met her at a book signing in Fairfax and she was really one of the sweetest people you could meet. Honestly, I don't think her face lends itself to being on camera. Her makeup is a bit weird, and straight camera angles do her no favors. She has a big head, kinda like Giada. And this is coming from a big headed girl.

Alright, you don't have to make fun of her sheeple quite so well.

I couldn't figure out how to phrase it succinctly, so I found this link: http://www.thepioneerwomansux.com/2011/02/its-all-in-how-you-manipulate-the-figures/

I don't like the Pioneer Woman or the manufactured lifestyle she puts forth, but I find the time that these people dedicated to these sites both impressive and horrifying. They really don't like the Pioneer Woman.

Enjoyed her blog for years, but have to agree with those who find her show awkward. I tried to watch it once and cringed. I doubt the life she presents on her blog (or TV) is very realistic.
I do wonder, though, how she manages to homeschool 4 children in the the midst of so much blogging, cooking, writing, and promoting. Are they really being homeschooled?

no, she has people doing that for her. that's part of the reason a lot of people don't like her..she acts like she's the one doing everything -- homeschooling 4 kids, cooking meals, taking care of the ranch, blogging, writing, etc. when really she has tons of people helping her/doing it for her (i'm referring to the first 3 things, though i'm sure now she has people helping her with her blog/books).

How does everyone know this about her? I'm a sucker who started watching her show and have been amazed (and envious) that she pulls it all off,

Huge phony with highly compensated publicists promoting her Pioneer Woman persona. Where this woman made lots of enemies was in her deceptive trade practices. She lifted recipes from church cookbooks, never attributed her sources and pretended she was an average little ol' ranch wife. When people discovered the truth, they felt like chumps. Rumor has it she's wealthier than her husband and he's one of the top land owners in the U.S. Nothing wrong with having money, but don't try to tell me you're just like the rest of us.
