Found wierd empty water bottle with a hole in it in son's room

Anonymous
It is for doing drugs. I am very familiar with it because my neighbor (45 year old divorced cougar mom) and her 18 year old high school student boyfriend, would use them and throw the used bongs in the woods behind their backyard.

I would go and clean the litter every few months and that was the first time I had seen these things. Please educate yourself and talk to your son. So sorry to hear this.

Anyone have any insight? Neither me nor DH did any drugs ever, so we are (admittedly) not the smartest in terms of the new ways people consume drugs, but DH is convinced this is some drug-related device.

homemade bong for weed

cocaine? not really a kid's thing these days

Amen to that.

If it was a gravity bong, it will smell like weed.

An update on this two year old post would be great! My mind is racing with the possibilities--- did the 14 yr old end up a drug addict in rehab?

maybe it is drugs

Don’t you have to heat the cans, though? Not sure that would work with plastic. But I’m definitely no expert.

On a tangentially-related note, my sister said that 99% of the projects in her high school ceramics class were covert bongs. Teacher was totally clueless. A lot of the parents probably were too, although this was the late 80s, so at least some of them had to be former hippies.

How did a zombie thread from 2013 get resurrected???

What? Surely the little boy was not chasing the dragon.

The PP just really thought everyone needed to know that “maybe it is drugs”.

This just made me remember a college friend whose parents staged an intervention when they found part of his oboe and didn’t know what it was-lol.

Ha!

Or the viral post from the lady worried about the rectangular tablet with the cryptic inscription “ZEd” that she’d found in her son’s room, with a photo of an upside-down Pez.

The worst part?

It was fun.

It was fun! It is fun. There's no "worst part" about that.. I've just told my kids to wait until they're 20 and then we can enjoy an occasional joint together. Not a big deal.

This is the answer. If your kid is smoking with this thing, it’ll be obvious. I guess maybe he was just practicing with making one, so he could make a real one at the park with friends. But if he’s smoking, it’s just as easy to get a pipe or rolling papers.
