Found wierd empty water bottle with a hole in it in son's room

I don't see how a water bottle would come into it and 14 year-olds typically don't do these things. But unless there's something you aren't mentioning I think you should be far, far more worried about your DH's paranoia than your DS. Seriously, the two of you need to educate yourselves about what kids really do so you don;t go off on things like this.

Your drug facts may be right, but the bolded is the most clueless statement and worst advice ever. Seriously, take your own advice and research homemade bongs before telling parents of a 14 yr old that they're being paranoid. You have zero clue and need not to advise on what you don't know.

Why? It is reasonable to think it might be drug paraphernalia. both parents being drug naive and not knowing a lot about what what drug it might be used for doesn't make him an idiot. I really hate this trend of putting men down and name calling them for no reason.

We are not putting men down and calling them names for no reason. We are calling DH an idiot because he has apparently asserted that a soda bottle with a hole in it is being used to smoke cocaine by a 14 year old. It is ridiculous.

OP stated up front that she and her DH don't know much of anything about drugs. She stated that clearly. Are you people really so lacking in worthwhile things to do with your day that you need to attack her DH anyway for being clueless? She said they're clueless, that's why they're asking here, leave them alone.

Gravity bong for pot. Smoking cocaine would melt the plastic.

Not just used for cocaine...could be pot

+ 1 gravity bong. Used in water. The top is around somewhere with a "bowl" attached to it for the pot. Pop a surprise test on your kiddo and have the resin in the bong tested to figure out the drug. Man, I would have hated the now me 20 years ago...

Unless there's a hot mom or teenager across the street that he can see into their windows--not buying it!

Agree. Quiz him on astrology. What was he using it for?

Any update, OP? Did you confront your son? (Or your DH, for that matter, who we all think is jumping to bizarre conclusions)

When I was in grad school, I had a pet that needed to be given medicine via a syringe. My mom came to visit me and found this syringe in the kitchen out on the counter and freaked out that I was shooting drugs. There was no needle attached to the syringe, nor any way that a needle could be attached. It was insane where her mind immediately went.

And funny that I had several bowls simultaneously hidden in my bedroom that she never saw.

Is the bottle clean or all dirty and burned inside?

This is the best question. He could have made a bong but not smoked anything at all. Just thought about it.
