Do your kids wear undies under their jammies?

Exactly.

It's weird to wear underwear with your pjs.

Uhhhhhhhhh what. No. It is not. Its weird to not wear them. These kids are going to be those weirdos at a sleep over that don't have underwear on at night...just keep that in mind.

This happened at a sleepover when I was a kid to the girl who went commando in a ightgown claiming it was healthy.

Because the sweat all day, or are bad a wiping.. And also promotes a sweaty damp environment ripe for growing bacteria.

So it is gross to sleep in underwear, not to mention unhealthy.

So you put their dirty bare asses in a clean pair of pjs or on clean sheets? Wouldn't a bath and a clean pair of underwear be more sanitary?

This made me laugh so hard. The thought of bathing or even simply changing into a clean pair of underwear doesn't occur to them so they choose to wipe filth all over PJs and their sheets instead (that they no doubt use more than one night). Absolutely feral.

I am truly shocked by the number of people on DCUM whose children sleep without underwear or naked. I had no idea this was a thing.

Friend, my kids are fast asleep underwear free and I AM in bed in sleep boxers and no undies. I grew up in an underwear free bed and made the switch as an adult. Commando is the way to go!

Of course...

I think underwear is more comfortable under pajamas because the pajamas have a middle seam that can be irritating. Also, my daughter wears the same pajamas several nights in a row, so underwear keeps them clean. But, she can make her own choice later. My son wears just shorts mostly.

Yes, once they're reliably night-trained.

I usually just sleep in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Same goes for DD (15). DS (13) sleeps in the nude.

Why WOULD they? The bits need to breathe

I never knew this was a thing.... why are people concerned their genitals can't breathe at night but can during the day? Just wear cotton underwear. Have never met a romantic partner who didn't wear underwear to sleep or the many campers at overnight camp...

Yes, we bathe. Yes, we can spell "bathe." We find it more comfortable, and think it more healthy to air out. No, we're not weirdos or perverts.

Your choices are your choices. Personal autonomy is a lovely thing.

Do what you want, but it’s extremely egotistical to use the royal “we.” If you meant it literally, I’m fascinated that your preschool-age children (because this is the infants, toddlers, and preschoolers forum) can spell bathe, find it more comfortable, and think it is more healthy to air out. Good for them! My preschooler and toddler wear what I set out for them, and I am not yet interested in their spelling abilities or thoughts on comfort and hygiene. But good for you that your whole family has reached the exact same decision for the exact same reasons that you have.

DCUM posters' abilities to always find 10+ year old threads on this topic to constantly rehash is just unmatched.

By DCUM posters do you mean random internet pervs using whatever search terms would turn up a thread like this at 4 am?

No underwear under pjs. Everyone washes before bed. At least bottoms if not a full shower. And kids (girls) and I rewear pjs for a couple days. I grew up this way. If they want to wear underwear, that's their choice.
