Why doesn't he simply change once a day, after the bath?? |
Do you not bath your kids before they go to bed? |
| WHY are people not having their children wear undies to bed. THIS IS GROSS. STOP. |
| I can't even get my son to wear underwear under his regular clothes. He's got major sensory issues and is on the autism spectrum so it's a battle I've given up on. He just refuses to wear underwear. When he was little (K or 1st grade) and I would make him put a pair on for school, they bothered him so much he'd go into the school bathroom and take them off and throw them away. So I gave up. |

So what I got from this thread is:
1. People don't bathe their kids enough 2. People who do bathe their kids, wear underwear 3. Dirty kids don't, and have UTIs |
| My child doesn't wear underwear to bed. I too don't wear underwear to bed. |
Funny, what I got was: 1) people have weird hang ups about the thought of kids bare bottoms in contact with their PJs. Which, if you change daily, as you do underwear, shouldn't matter anyway. 2) A lot of grown women are letting this hang up get in the way of what most doctors recommend, which is to not wear underwear to bed. 3) This website is full of wingnuts that, despite being grown women and always complaining about the use of "mommy" or DD, DH or whatever (because it's 'silly'), have no problem discussing this topic while using the terms UNDIES and JAMMIES. Btw, my kid takes a daily shower and wears no underwear with her pajamas. I take two showers a day and sleep with no underwear, or pajamas, for that matter. |
| I don't wear underwear to bed upon the recommendation of my ob gyn. Not sure if it's also unhealthy for boys/men to wear underwear to bed. |
|
^ forgot to add:
4) There is a lot of self proclaimed highly educated women around here spelling "bathe" as "bath" every time the topic comes up. |
So why not shower or bathe before bed? |
I'm 34. I'm a physician. I wear underwear all day and all night. I've never had a yeast infection. I've never told a patient not to wear under garments at night. If you wear breathable natural fiber briefs that are not too tight, you should not have a problem. |

6 and 4 year old - they're young, so no. They take a bath then wear PJs without undies. They dress themselves, so as long as they put underwear on with clothes in the morning I don't really care.
DD still wears diapers to bed. |
| No undies, even during the day for mom sometimes haha. When my son is out of diapers if will be no undies at night for him as well. Less to wash! |
Yes, I understand you feel that way, but sleeping without underwear on is not dangerous or nasty either, is it? |
| Yes, absolutely. Always underwear. Seems very gross to me - kids don't wipe that well. Especially ones potty training. Yuck! |
