+1. interestingly, on the "recess" thread, an alleged SELA parent was boasting how SELA kids get great daily exercise by walking 15 minutes to and 15 back from the playground, which was described as several blocks away........apparently the distance of the playground varies according to the point the poster wants to make |
| WTF. Enuf already. |
| How long do kids have for recess? Walking to and from seems like it would take all of recess. |
| A thread that began as an important announcement concerning the school principal quickly turned into a petty argument about the distance of a neighboring playground. Concerned parents and prospectives are not interested in such arguments which distract from the real issue. Please stop. |
Real issues: Principal resigns in the first week of school. Sela doesn't have an appropriate playground - closest is 15 minute walk. At least one Sela parent lies in public, and is called out by Jeff. |
The principal had a good reason to resign. Stop hating on the school. She had a personal health issue. As previous posters had said it is better that is was done now rather than later. i guess you have no sympathy. I would say check the school out for yourself. This thread went far left for no reason. We are all grown here ppl. Remember this is a anonymous board. |
| it seems to me that a thread about SELA is premature. the school has been open what, a week? I think we should probably wait several monthsbefore discussing how the school is going, IMHO |
This. Thank you! |
Cuckoo for cocoa puffs. The school has been open for two seconds - plenty of people find the playground appropriate (perhaps not for your snowflake, but for the actual Sela parents), the principal has a personal reason for resigning that has nothing to do with the program, unless Jeff has a class list I'm not sure who he knows is a parent or not of any school - Sela has a lot of supporters at other schools - so what-evs, you all need to check yourselves as to why Sela is your sacrificial lamb for beating on charter schools, I suggest you pray hard. |
| ^^ Your cuckoo for cocoa puffs comment is you projecting. Next time, don't forget to take your meds. As for the rest of us, no one is happy to see what appears to be a promising charter fail. I'm not a SELA parent, but I think it's pathetic to lie about the school to trick the public. I think it's too far for my pre-schooler to walk for 15 minutes to a playground, so someone saying there's a playground across the street is lying. Plain and simple. It's completely unnecessary. SELA has a lot of wonderful things planned and will probably overcome the principal's resignation, though I'm sure that presented a challenge. So, lying and degrading parents does nothing buy make SELA sound gross. So far, the praying I'm doing is thanking goodness I'm not at a charter with dishonest vitriolic parents. Such a shame! |
Do you kiss your children with that mouth? Chill. |
| ^^ Uh-oh. Another dishonest SELA parent. You guys are too much. What above the above posts warrants your comment. There was nothing vile whatsoever. What is vile is your dishonesty. You must be the same poster who lied about the location of the playground. You need to chill with the lies. I'm just hoping that you're not actually at SELA. If so, God help them! |
Haters will hate, I guess. Ick. |
| Fond something better to do haters. |
| You people are completely over the top. I am not a Sela parent and hope that the school will be successful. The location of the playground does not seem to be an insurmountable obstacle for the parents. The departure of the principal is unfortunate, but not likely to sink the entire program. |
