If "hazing" involved nothing worse than head shaving, no one old have a problem with hazing.
The logical fallacy is using a word that encompasses horrific acts to make a mild act seem horrific. HAIR SHAVING is HAZING SOME HAZING is HORRIFIC Does NOT support HAIR SHAVING is HORRIFIC |
| The only shaving you hens should worry about is your bikini line. Get with the times and take care of your business down there! |

This is a weird mix of very defensive adults and nasty teenage boys, I think. For every thoughtful post explaining why head shaving rituals on high school sports team are not a good idea, the formula seems to be 1 good faith disagreement, 2 disagreements by people who have not read the posts they disagree with, and 2 vile posts by teenagers.
Interesting. Ultimately casts St. Stephens St. Agnes in a very negative light to any outside observer. |

For anyone interested, here's the link to the National Federation of High School Sports site on hazing:
http://www.nfhs.org/content.aspx?id=3766 Here's a link to a report from the University of Maine on hazing in college, which includes background on the high percentage of students who've experienced hazing behavior in high school. It is also interesting in candidly reporting the responses of many participants who accentuate the positive aspects of hazing/initiation rituals. http://umaine.edu/hazingresearch/files/2012/10/hazing_in_view_web.pdf |
| Anyone who characterizes head shaving as an activity that has the "potential for serious bodily harm or even death" is not credible. |
