Can DH request a circumcision while I'm recovering from childbirth?

I'm so horrified that this is even an issue. OP, please just get it noted in writing wherever you can. If anyone cut my child's genitalia without my consent I'd be pressing assault charges even if it was my husband (who fortunately is more enlightened than to think that having a son who looks like him is more important than getting to retain a important part of his penis).

Doctors don't curcumcise without consent, but op's dh is the father of the baby. Fathers can give consent.

And why don't you rely on actual medical opinions. I'm the one who watched both my DS' heel prick and his bris.

You should also rely on medical opinions too :

2010 ROYAL AUSTRALASIAN COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS
"Ethical and human rights concerns have been raised regarding elective infant male circumcision because it is recognized that the foreskin has a functional role.
After reviewing the currently available evidence, the RACP believes that the frequency of diseases modifiable by circumcision, the level of protection offered by circumcision and the complication rates of circumcision do not warrant routine infant circumcision in Australia and New Zealand."

2010 ROYAL DUTCH MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
"There is no convincing evidence that circumcision is useful or necessary in terms of prevention or hygiene."

2006 BRITISH MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
"The BMA does not believe that parental preference alone constitutes sufficient grounds for performing a surgical procedure on a child unable to express his own view
Some doctors may wish to not perform circumcisions for reasons of conscience."

We are in the usa where medicine is not socialized or rationed.

A more valid source would be the aap or other us associations

Use science , it works.

If the father loves so much circumcision, he can circumcise himself a second time. Let the child decide what he wants to do with his package when he's old enough to do so.

Where medicine isn't socialized ? Are you sure ?

Do you realize circumcision was introduced in the US to prevent masturbation ? "In the 1890s, it became a popular technique to prevent, or cure, masturbatory insanity.

Do you realize the US is the only industrialized country where the majority of baby boys have part of their penises cut off for "hygiene" ?
There’s no reason to do it medically. The rest of the world gets by just fine with their “diseased” penis flaps.
If it were being introduced today without its extraordinary cultural luggage, it would certainly be rejected as barbaric

Wow, the point here just flew right over your head. OP is already opposed to circumcision, that's not the issue. Clearly she does not need further convincing on that end. The issue is that she thinks her DH might go behind her back and have the baby circumcised while she is recovering from childbirth.

I think OP is sock puppetting.

My DS was born in California, where it was pretty much assumed there would be no circumcision. If you wanted it, you had to make it really clear.

If circ helps prevent HIV, why have so many gay American men been infected with it? The vast majority of them were undoubtedly circumcised.
