Sorry, I meant "here!"

I wasn't purposefully denied a father but it happened. And I am A-ok.

And that is great. But just because "it happens" and things can turn out fine is no excuse for purposefully setting up a detrimental situation.

Carry-on troll. Be supportive or GO AWAY. Guess its better to just kill the babies right? Perhaps that is what your momma should've done.

Wow, you're nuts. And not everyone who disagrees with you is a troll. The person you just said should have been aborted wasn't being remotely troll-like.

Oh your not a troll? You were serious? Well, what should woman who find themselves alone with a child or pregnant do? You have your "opinion" what's the solution?

PP, you've gotten way off track. The discussion here is not about women who "find" themselves alone or pregnant with a child. The topic -- as noted in the subject line -- concerns women who purposely create a child by themselves when single, because they want to be "fulfilled as mommies" but somehow can't make a relationship with a human adult (male) work. These are two separate issues. And to answer your question about what women who, again, "find themselves" in this state should do, well.. that's what adoption is for.

I agree. I think deliberately having a child on your own is a selfish thing to do, and it stems from people's belief that they somehow have a "right" to a child.

This is going to sound harsh, but I do wonder why people who can't have a succesful relationship with another adult think it is such a good idea to have children.

You know, you can't make many women who weren't lucky enough to find partners in life feel worse about themselves than they already do.But thanks for trying.

Do you really think it's just "luck?"

If you're the compassionate offspring of a two parent household I'll pass. Seriously this forum is for special concerns. Now your sugesting the two parent household needs an adult man ...include gay men? I'm guessing not go away to your own forum.

That's right, hon. Keep swinging the club. Harder, harder.

Well, I count myself lucky that I didn't end up marrying one of the guys this columnist is talking about. Their wives are essentially single moms. But hey, I am sure their wives are so superior for having gotten married.

Sorry, but I really, truly, fail to see how this simple question can make you feel so beaten down. I might suggest -- gently -- that the fact that you seem to take such personal offense at such an innocent attempt at dialogue could be an issue for you?
