Other than that, yea, you should be allowed to run.

I realize you're just trolling, but some people probably do think this way.

I’m not trolling and I don’t think they should be excluded for real. But yea I don’t consider them to be true DC people with a real and broad interest in the city either.

But you are because you’ve lived in Ward 1? How many years?

Long enough.

Yep. Same place.

Read: 5 years. 🙄

Yup

Multiply that by 3 and you're almost there.

You lived in one ward that whole time?

Yes. Same house.

Sounds like you have isolated yourself in a little corner of the city for years. No experience of any other ward? You just can’t know what the city needs if you’ve never been out of Ward 1.

I feel the same way about voting for POTUS. If you have lived your whole life in one state, you can't know what a country needs. Your experiences aren't just complete enough to understand national issues.

Oh, I agree. Living in one state or ward makes it impossible to think widely about the whole city or country. People who move to DC and live in one ward the whole time they are here just aren’t qualified to vote city-wide.

Additionally, if you were born in the District and have lived your whole life in a single ward, you can't understand what the city needs. Unless it's Ward 8. They each get two votes.

So how many wards have you lived in?

I think anyone who thinks only their "type" of Washingtonian counts, is bigoted and small minded.

This should be obvious.

Agreed. That's why voting should be limited to those that have lived in multiple wards. And been a life long resident of DC.

What if you are a DC native living in W3. And you’re Black.

Not a race thing.

So no Black native Washingtonians living in Ward 3 get to run? Because they have no real concept of what the DC is all about?

According to you

And you are from where? And living where?

I don't care if you're black, white, or green or whether you've lived here a week or 100 years. If you're living in Upper Caucasia it's because you've chosen to live in the bubble part of DC that's always been separate and you're not truly vested in the city. You might as well live in Arlington.

Great. Got it.

Where are you from and where do you live?

They’re a biracial offspring of 2 college educated parents who moved to NoMa 5 years ago from Columbus. So much cred

You couldn't be more wrong. But, again, it's not the race that matters. We're EOTP, have been here plenty long, have three generations currently living here, have kids in the public schools (no, not "JKLM" or whatever silly elitist acronym you use) and some of us actually work for/in the city. We count. You don't.

EOTP counts more than WOTP? Explain that to us like we are 10.

All of the people on my WOTP block work in the city. Do they count, or not as much? If not, again, explain your work

Lots of people work in DC but don’t live here. They don’t count either.

Try to focus. I’m the person you’re quoting and I said all of the people on my block located west of rock Creek Park in the district of Columbia also work in DC.

Do they count?

PP think you should only count if you live east of the park, probably work in the city, and it is strongly implied that you only count if you have the requisite melanin
