What if you are a DC native living in W3. And you’re Black.

Not a race thing.

So no Black native Washingtonians living in Ward 3 get to run? Because they have no real concept of what the DC is all about?

According to you

And you are from where? And living where?

I don't care if you're black, white, or green or whether you've lived here a week or 100 years. If you're living in Upper Caucasia it's because you've chosen to live in the bubble part of DC that's always been separate and you're not truly vested in the city. You might as well live in Arlington.

Great. Got it.

Where are you from and where do you live?

They’re a biracial offspring of 2 college educated parents who moved to NoMa 5 years ago from Columbus. So much cred

You couldn't be more wrong. But, again, it's not the race that matters. We're EOTP, have been here plenty long, have three generations currently living here, have kids in the public schools (no, not "JKLM" or whatever silly elitist acronym you use) and some of us actually work for/in the city. We count. You don't.

So where are you from? How far north is your EOTP? How long have you lived there? Have you lived in any other ward?

U Street, Shaw, and CH.

So just Ward 1.

I realize you're just trolling, but some people probably do think this way.

The PP who would ban Ward 3 residents from running citywide is certainty trolling, but in reality, Mendo is probably the only Ward 3 resident who can win citywide anyway, so even if you supported such a policy, it’s redundant.

EOTP counts more than WOTP? Explain that to us like we are 10.

All of the people on my WOTP block work in the city. Do they count, or not as much? If not, again, explain your work

I was born in D.C. 50 years ago, and my father and both of his parents were born here, too, and my kids are going to the same middle and high school their grandfather went to. Have lived east of the park and now west of the park. I think you’re probably not being entirely serious, but if you are, your argument is ludicrous.

Maybe we could have a points scoring system? For each generation your family has lived in the District, you get a point. If you live in Ward 3, we subtract a point. One man, ten votes.

And add a point for every ward you’ve lived in in addition to the one you live in now. Ex: living in W1 only gets you zero points.

Subtract five points if you weren’t born here. Add one point if you’ve lived here 20 years and one point for every decade after that.

JLG and Aparna Raj are democratic socialists.

The democratic socialists are overwhelmingly white.

Good luck.

What if you live in Ward 9? How do the points work then?

You live in an alternate reality. There is no Ward 9. However, Wards 1-4 are zero points. Ward 5 and 6 get 1 point. Ward 7, 2 points. Ward 8, 10 points.

When people say "DC natives," they're not talking about white people.

I always assume that when people said DC native they meant not a transplant from nowhere USA. I never thought people meant to make it mean a black person. That doesn't even sound right. So a DC native to me is someone who was born and raised in DC since at least the '80s or before. Or who has been in this area from the '80s to before.

I will have to tell DW she isn't a native. She was born in Bethesda but grew up and went to high school in DC.

The understanding of not having a two parent household, living in crime ridden neighborhoods and the list goes on.
