Most Capital kids never touch the field though. If your daughter truly wants to get better, take the drive up to Baltimore. It’s a pain but worth it.

+1

The trip is not bad in HS. Only weekends.

Tell us more. These teams only practice on weekends?

Yes. High school club lax practices are on the weekend. Not as big a deal to drive north.

Only weekends in the fall and in the summer it’s during the week. Most Baltimore teams start summer practice mid may

Stars 2030 won't have KJ, they get a new coach each year, so that's a pointless team to be on with a new coach each year trying to reinvent the wheel. Field space readily available at the st James, which is a plus

YJVDMV I think used to be a stronger but their recent coaches seem to have only made girls the team flee? there are several who I heard left the team because of the coaching, several girls went to blc blue, I think one to heros, a few to m&d DC. No good set field space, they are on the bad grass field at SR with no lights while other teams get priority to the turf.

M&d DC has had the same coach for years, good continuity, I think people generally seem to like her. It doesn't seem like girls leave that team. It seems like a very full roster though, not sure how playing time works out. Field space is set at WES which is nice.

Agree that having the bubble girls go to the same place will keep the talent together and is a good strategy. Not sure how one coordinates that though?

Ok, good overview. Sounds like when we get dumped by Capital we are headed to M&D DC. Did they post try out dates?

Your overview is decent but full of holes.
Stars is great this year because of an infusion of new players who are hungry. B team players who work hard and want to get to Capital. No one decent will stay on for HS. Fact.
YJDMV - The girls who left are just much better than the majority of the team. Top talent is still there and will end up high D1. Bottom half is still there and still plays. No cuts ever.
M&DDC has same coach for the past 3 years - nice, fun. Not much roster movement because no one is good enough to leave or complaining. It's a social scene. Top talent will leave for Capital next year. Team is rebranded from Next Level.
You left one out - Maryland United Bethesda Lax. Amazing fields, healthy roster size. Super bad players doing low lax IQ practices. Starting from the ground up although rebranded from MC Elite.

Too soon to make a determination on Maryland United Bethesda. Early results are a brand new team who had a rough year in the NGLL, currently ranked deep in the 100's.

They aren't a brand new team. They are brand new players. The club has been promoting itself all year about it being Maryland United. The offshoot is not new because JR coaches half of them and she has been around the girls youth club circuit for decades.

If the team didn't exist last year, and now exists this year, wouldn't that make them a brand new team?

No one wants to go to that team. It’s a fallback.

Some will have to. BLC is in its last year and YJ is imploding. That leaves M&D DC and MD United Bethesda as the only teams left. They have an opportunity to significantly improve next year.

M&D DC is poised to be the biggest beneficiary this summer. They will add several girls from YJ DMV and BLC.

Why do you say that YJ is imploding? Where does that come from?

Is this from an M&DDC parent who is desperate to get new players? Who would go from YJ DMV or BLC to that team? I get that BLC ends but there are so many better options for HS. Going from #10 in the country to #110 is silly.

YJ DMV is ranked #34. Down 4 spots from 2025's final ranking. Down 15 spots since 2024 ranking. TRENDING DOWN
M&D DC is ranked #55. Up 55 spots from 2025's final ranking. Up 58 spots from 2024. TRENDING UP

What will YJ DMV look like after after Capital tryouts?

The fact that most are leaving. Check back in the 3rd week of June.

M&D DC will still probably lose their best players to Capital
