I think you are a little fragile of this bothers you. She owns both and uses one business to help make the other money. Should she not try and make money? It's America.

My kids played Capital and I've never given a dime to HB. But, being pissed about this dumb thing allows you a good excuse to tell yourself about HB when you're kid doesn't make a Cap team.

The whole program is mediocre. Ask anyone who had a kid go through it. They do have connections to some OK D1, D3 schools and you can try to leverage those connections. Most Capital kids never touch the field though. If your daughter truly wants to get better, take the drive up to Baltimore. It’s a pain but worth it.

Lots of open practices this week for the Baltimore clubs - Skywalkers, Coppermine, MND all are posting their open practice schedules on Instagram.

In the fall, practices may happen one to times a week between tournaments. Usually nothing goes on in the winter and spring, as players play for their school teams. During the summer, they ramp up and practice twice a week for all the summer tournaments.

Are there orange parents out there to chime in on their experience? Recruiting is 80% on the kid and 20% from the coach. You have to spam the coaches you honestly have a chance with and see if they are interested. I don’t expect the coaches to do much. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe HB sucks and is such a money grab. I would see if you can get connected to a college player that can train your daughter when she comes home on breaks or a local coach who played in college who can do private or small group lessons.

This seems like a BS opinion -- one thing you can dispute is Capital's recruiting success. They outperform almost any other club based upon their ranking. Its kind of remarkable really. Yes, its true that Capital girls dont have a ton of success at the college level, but thats not a basis to call the program mediocre. Capital's "fair play" system get almost all players good recruiting looks, but hurts their development.

YJVDMV I think used to be a stronger but their recent coaches seem to have only made girls the team flee? there are several who I heard left the team because of the coaching, several girls went to blc blue, I think one to heros, a few to m&d DC. No good set field space, they are on the bad grass field at SR with no lights while other teams get priority to the turf.

M&d DC has had the same coach for years, good continuity, I think people generally seem to like her. It doesn't seem like girls leave that team. It seems like a very full roster though, not sure how playing time works out. Field space is set at WES which is nice.

Agree that having the bubble girls go to the same place will keep the talent together and is a good strategy. Not sure how one coordinates that though?

Your overview is decent but full of holes.
Stars is great this year because of an infusion of new players who are hungry. B team players who work hard and want to get to Capital. No one decent will stay on for HS. Fact.
YJDMV - The girls who left are just much better than the majority of the team. Top talent is still there and will end up high D1. Bottom half is still there and still plays. No cuts ever.
M&DDC has same coach for the past 3 years - nice, fun. Not much roster movement because no one is good enough to leave or complaining.It's a social scene. Top talent will leave for Capital next year. Team is rebranded from Next Level.
You left one out - Maryland United Bethesda Lax. Amazing fields, healthy roster size. Super bad players doing low lax IQ practices. Starting from the ground up although rebranded from MC Elite.
