I think it's likely Mia Farrow was a highly dysfunctional and possibly abusive parent. The very fact that Woody Allen was able to begin grooming Soon-Yi at a young age while dating Mia, and that Soon-Yi was apparently unsupervised enough that Farrow allowed that relationship to develop, is concerning. In fact it's concerning that Mia even dated Allen, who was well known for being a womanizer who was attracted to very young women well before the relationship with Soon-Yi, and allowed him so much access to Soon-Yi. Mia Farrow being a neglectful or even abusive parent in no way justifies what Allen did in taking advantage of his power and authority over Soon-Yi to groom her to become his girlfriend and wife. And Soon-Yi being the victim of both a dysfunctional home life growing up and the predation of a much older and manipulative husband in no way justifies her later association with Epstein or any abuse/neglect her kids may have experienced. Every child deserves empathy and protection, and yet every adult must be accountable for their own actions regardless of their childhood experience. It's such a messed up situation from top to bottom. |
Yes they have two children they adopted (as babies or toddlers) shortly after they married. |
Your version contradict's Soon Yi's, so, whatever. |
Messy of Bard to bring up the fact that this girl’s sister/aunt and brother/uncle had already attended Bard. I mean I guess she was a legacy in a sense, but I doubt they were making the introduction, and I doubt she listed their names on her application! |
| Bard publicly defending her against her own parents scheming. I feel bad for her. |
No he's not a pedophile. He was cleared by authorities when Mia first brought the case against him during their divorce/custody proceedings. The Yale/New Haven child psychologists said that they felt the child was coached in testimony by her mother. Allen was able to adopt children with his wife Soon-Yi. There is no evidence at all that he was a pedophile. Now I don't think he's a great guy necessarily. Mia/Woody's divorce was likely a case of ESH (everyone sucks here) in different ways. I do think it's skeevy that men like Allen like younger women, but he does not have a history of having sex with minors or children. For me, I enjoy their movies a lot, but don't care about fanning or stanning them personally. They're both talented but seemed to have difficult family lives. Woody's mom was physically abusive. Mia's parents were absent/negligent, her brother is a convicted and jailed pedophile and at least two of her adopted non-white children have said she's abusive. Soon-Yi had a terrible life herself, living on the streets at 5 and eating out of dumpsters before she was adopted by Mia, and said Mia physically beat her. Marrying Woody was her "escape" but he was never her stepfather. She is the adopted daughter of Previn. Mia and Woody were married but never lived in the same home - they had their own separate residences on opposite sides of Central Park. Sad story all around. |
Woody is the messed up pedo and you blame the woman? |

The part about her dad suggesting she was going to burn down the college is the rough part.
I agree with the bard spokesperson that Je took credit for everything….that is how power brokers like him operate — they have to exaggerate their own influence and power in order to have people keep coming to them for favors. He is like a money lender but instead of money it’s social capital or political connections or sex — and everybody has to pay the vig on the loan but no one knows when it will be called in. He takes credit for getting woodys kid into school so then he can get Allen to give Karl’s son an internship and then Karp can represent someone else that needs something….. and round and round and round it goes. |
That was obviously humor! Did no one watch Annie Hall or Hannah and Her Sisters or Zelig or Crime and Misdemeanors? He was a stand up comedian and is a comedy writer. His humor is very dry, very sarcastic and self-deprecating and not meant to be taken literally at all. Everyone is so dramatic. Poor Bechet they're reading too much into this. Why do these emails from Soon-Yi not have her name or her daughter's name redacted but many of the Trump ones or Steve Bannon ones do? |
That is my post. I saw every woody Allen movie that came out before about 1995 and also read all his plays. Yes it’s a joke but you don’t make a joke about your kid burning down a college unless the kid has some behavioral or mental health struggles (which is probably why the mom thought she needed JE’s help to get her into bard). It’s just crappy for a kid to know your dad was joking about you that way. That’s worse than the “mom thought I needed connections to get into college” (which is more just a normal famous person thing). |
Well, she lied so it is what it is. |
Ah, patriarchy. Where every women must establish that she is without fault before even one person may so much as raise an eyebrow at a man who slept with his daughter’s teenaged sister. |
Lol. But do you believe Blake Lively? |
It's definitely tongue in cheek style humor but probably with a grain of truth. From her Instagram she looks a little bit on the wild side.

or she has grown up with his characteristic humor and she finds him hilarious as most of his close acquaintances do! they seem like they have a good relationship: https://pagesix.com/article/lives-of-woody-allen-sun-yi-previns-daughers-bechet-manzie/ |
