Epstein helps Woody Allen's daughter get into college

This new story adds nothing, frankly. Woody is a disgusting pervert who associates with other disgusting perverts. We knew that.

This seems improbable. I'd believe this more if Bechet needed help getting into Yale, rather than Bard. Maybe as Bard's president said, Epstein took credit for this even when he didn't do much. I doubt they needed Epstein's help to get her into Bard, an arts college that would have been delighted to have Woody Allen's child attend under normal circumstances. Soon-Yi herself is a Columbia alum and Allen of course is an Oscar winner.

Both are true. Soon-Yi got her Masters degree in education at Columbia University, and her Bachelor at Drew.

Soon-Yi had a terrible life herself, living on the streets at 5 and eating out of dumpsters before she was adopted by Mia, and said Mia physically beat her. Marrying Woody was her "escape" but he was never her stepfather. She is the adopted daughter of Previn. Mia and Woody were married but never lived in the same home - they had their own separate residences on opposite sides of Central Park.

The story is not that he was buying his daughter into school, or calling in a favor. It's that Allen and Botstein are using the appearance of a favor to stay chummy with a pedo ring.

Allen made one film (Manhattan, 1979) which featured a relationship between an older man involved with a high school student who he doesn't appreciate (Hemingway), and dumps her for an older woman (Keaton) who he is more obsessed with, but she doesn't treat him well and she dumps him and he goes back to the younger woman. In 1979, the age gap relationship was reacted to differently than it would be today. In 1979, it won the academy award and a lot of popular and critical acclaim. It seems American society and social mores were different than now. There were lots of age gap relationships among celebrities then that seem super problematic now. Elvis Presley and 15-yr old Pricilla. Mia Farrow (19) marrying Frank Sinatra (60+), etc.

I saw the movie in 1979. I was 18. I thought it was weird and creepy then and I was a fan of his movies and remained so for many years. However, I thought of it as a story, not autobiography but now I do it was revealing his inappropriate desires.

He got involved with Soon Yi when she was a teenager. Maybe she was 18 but so what? That's young and it's a terrible thing to do. He betrayed his long-time girlfriend by dating her daughter. The daughter hated her adoptive mother but so what? It's hostile and weird on both their parts. Mia Farrow is a bizarre person but he did this. He's a scumbag. It fits that they would socialize with Epstein. What normal person would want to be around them?

Sounds like Soon-Yi Previn was using Woody's phone and email to ask favors from Epstein. Not sure if it was needed but Soon-Yi is reportedly very bossy and brash and proactive for her kids. Manzie went to Hewitt (who the comment is about graduating high school) and onto Whittier College, which is a bit of a last chance U. Bechet went to Brearley, seems smart, feisty and artsy, and went to Bard. Both seem like nice women.

If Soon-Yi were halfway good at actual proactive Tiger Parenting and her child were halfway smart, she wouldn't be desperately calling in last-minute favors so their kid could get into Bard and so the other one could graduate from high school. -
