Teachers were all told they needed asynchronous work ready to be posted on Monday “just in case.”

How does that work for the teachers? Do they already have things in their Google Drive they can use? I assume it’s review and practice.

Do all students have school issued devices at home, or were they left at the schools?

Yes and yes.

If we get screwed out of in person school on Monday it will be 100% due to walk zones and equity. Most people are capable of getting their kids to school on Monday.

Sure letting kids stand on ice mounds on corners that are hard to see is fabulous.

Two things:

1. Absolutely all the districts have to consider this when determining reopening

2. Those mounds aren’t going anywhere for months.

So how do we balance both those realities? I think several days of 2 hour delays with emails telling parents they NEED to walk or drive their kids to the bus stop, wait with them there, drive them to school or organize carpool , or in a real pinch let them stay home if they consider it too unsafe - whatever is needed in order to keep kids safe while also acknowledging the reality the snowpack is here for awhile and we have to get back to school.

Car line is going to be extra bad this week but it is worth it to reopen. If we wait for the snow to melt it will be sometime in March.
