None of them are christ like. this administration is full of evil

Can you imagine finding out that your father was an ICE agent?

It will be like finding great grandpa’s SS uniform.

I don’t think anyone intends to treat today’s ICE like we treated rank and file Nazis. They know what they are doing is illegal and immoral, and the law needs to hold them to account.

That’s fine, I’m just pointing out the family shame involved.

As for why the child was taken at all, this part matters: ICE does not leave small children unattended when a parent is arrested. When a minor’s legal guardian is taken into custody and there is no immediately available alternative guardian on scene, the child is taken into ICE custody with the parent under family detention procedures. That is exactly what happened here. The child was not arrested as a criminal; he was placed into family custody because his parent was detained and there was no one else legally available to take him at that moment.
Finally, the claim that the child is “a legal citizen born here” is not supported by the reporting. The articles describe the family as asylum seekers with an active immigration case. None of the major coverage states the child is a confirmed U.S. citizen. Saying that as a fact when it hasn’t been established is misinformation.

Please, don't bother the raving liberals with facts.

Yes just use children as bait. Republicans are sick individuals. I can see why they are protecting Epstein’s gang of pedophiles.

"Custody" like the child will be safe there.

These kind of placements are very bad for the child. And do you really think anyone in this administration is actually vetting who gets near this child?

They never meant for this picture to get out

Keep recording and documenting to get their story out

Remember the fireman carrying out the dead toddler from Oklahoma City

This country is a very visual one, very few real readers.

The media has the opportunity to get this one fixed. They just have to continue to press Trump/Noem on this picture and policy. It's a terrible, terrible look (and in some ways hits even harder than Good's murder).

In other words, the family is legally here, and ICE kidnapped a 5-year old. They used a 5-year old as bait to attempt to lure the mother out. Pure evil.

That is not what the article says. The article says the child has been detained to the Texas detention center...and also another adult was there asking to look after the boy while they detained the father. ICE detained both anyway. Are we reading the same article? Do you have kids? And the father fled because he was scared...

Where is the humanity? How could the seizure of the adult be so urgent that it could not wait until a better and more humane situation could be arranged for the 5 year old child?

Anyone defending the placement of a 5 year old anywhere but their own home is nuts and plain evil.

I was one of the first people to respond. I think it is better to keep families together than to separate them and said so (though I have since learned that there may have been a family member at the scene, so I may take that back).

What is cruel, unnecessary, and in total disregard of the law is to detain a man who is LEGAL. The fact that they have no right detaining him makes taking the child along unforgivable.

If MAGA is breathing, they are lying.

There were other family members present who asked to keep the child. They were refused. ICE took the child to use as leverage. And you know this very well. If they were so worried about the welfare of children, they wouldn't have left the middle school aged child to arrive home to both his father and baby brother missing. And they probably wouldn't have gassed a car full of innocent children the other day, leading to the hospitalization of an infant.

Spare us your BS.

It is good that Trump learned from the the horror show and worst thing he did during the first administration: separating children from their families and sometimes losing children. Somehow he manages to best himself on almost a daily basis this time around.

Logical fallacy by Bovino.

The family was not "illegal" - they have legal status with a pending asylum case.

There was zero reason to even approach the father and child, let alone apprehend them.

If you don't like asylum seekers, than change US law. These people are too lazy to work on a bipartisan basis to change asylum and immigration laws.

Who determined he was legal?

Why are people not getting this?

If you came to a border crossing and presented yourself to the guard and asked for asylum, you were assigned an immigration case number, you downloaded an app that would notify you of your court hearings and you were allowed to come into the country LEGALLY.

The US Government allowed this father and son (and some other family members) to come in LEGALLY.

So the US Government determined they were LEGAL.

And according to the lawyer who has seen the immigration status papers, they were following the procedures LEGALLY.

Yet the father and 5 yo were plucked out of their driveway and most likely sent to Texas.

These aren't criminals - these are people who followed the US rules at the time and entered with the permission of the US.

That means LEGAL.

Got it yet?

Honestly, you’re kind to try to explain this but in reality, they just hate Hispanic immigrants period. Legal or not, they’re bigots. They don’t want to understand your point. They want preschoolers shipped off to cecot.

This photo is worth a lot of votes against Republicans!

Democrats put this child in the situation sad

Actually whoever brought him here put him in this situation.

As pp above explained, the family came here legally. Trump and ICE put that child in this situation. No one else.
