Please ask the coach and let us know |
I just checked it and it’s still showing early Friday start for 13-14s but it also says Sunday for the other 13-14 events. So they are definitely changing things in MM at the moment. |
The Sunday events on Meet Mobile are not listed. If you click on 13-14, there is nothing. They have moved all the events to Friday or Saturday. |
PP here. Yes, I know. I was simply offering a non-traditional solution. The real upside from an inclusion POV, all the slower 500 kids get to swim at "finals." |
Sorry I meant there are no prelims and then finals, only finals. |
| We got confirmation that the compacted schedule is happening. |

This is what we got: At this time the meet will now be a 2-day format running on Friday and Saturday ONLY - No Sunday session.
The entire meet is going to run Fast to Slow. Updated timeline is attached and events have been renumbered. The final few heats of each event for the 13&Over Girls and 11-12 Girls will be moved to the boys pool each day to help the timeline. We will help to make sure that any athletes moved to the other pool are notified and get to the correct pool. This is NOT reflected on the timelines so the girls pools will end about 30 minutes earlier than listed. Warm-Up Times... Friday/Saturday (13-14) - Warm-Ups 6:30am ; Meet Starts 7:30am Friday/Saturday (9-12) - Warm-Ups 12:45pm ; Meet Starts 1:35pm The 500 Free for 11-14 year olds and the 400 IM for the 13-14 are still time your own swimmers. |
I love meet mobile, but as an official it’s sometimes the bane of my existence. I agree, the meet director shouldn’t have published a timeline on meet mobile until they knew for sure. This won’t be popular, but if they condense the meet, they should restrict entries to keep it to a reasonable timeline. Only take the fastest x number of heats of 500, etc. It’s usually reserved for long course only, but in fast to slow heats of scy 500 and even the 200 frees, you could do chase starts which would significantly shorten the timeline. |
I thought maybe they would cut out the 9-10s or have the 11-12s do the 9-10 meet (so no 500 free) but they are condensing it as is and having the last heats of the girls 500 free swim in the boys pool since they are done so much earlier. Also, thank you for being an official and shout out to the Marlins for doing everything they can to make this meet happen. My swimmer is excited even though the 200 fly, 200 IM and 500 free together sounds like hell to them (they are a breast/back/IMer so they “like” Saturday lol).

This sounds like an awesome meet and difficult to host because of the long events. Good luck everyone and if anyone on this forum is from the hosting team, thank the organizers because it sounds like they have had to do a lot of pivoting! |
| I wonder if there wil be many scratches due to the weather and change in schedule? |
|
So someone explained to me if USA Swimming says 12&U cannot have a session "Scheduled" for longer than four hours -- how is it happening in this meet?
Seriously. Or is it, oh well. |
Let's hope they reseed if so. Seriously. That could save some time. But if they do not and there are just a bunch of empty lanes, it will be infuriating. |
Yeah I’m not sure how this is allowed to occur, maybe USA swimming gives an exception? The 12&u Friday session is going to be at least 6 hours in duration. Even with moving some girls events to the boys pool. |
They are doing positive check in, so that will eliminate having too many open lanes in heats. |
