Different poster, but that would be AMAZING! As long as they are not dressed too provocatively for school kids, I think they would love it. A lot of the times, kids only hate what they are taught to hate. Drag is not inherently sexual, so it’s odd that people get all up in arms about it. People loved the movie Mrs. Doubtfire. I don’t recall people trying to ban the movie. |
Sure, after that gay uncles day, August 14th. |
Are your kids in school July 16? That’s not great. You should change schools. |
Wow. Your kids’ school starts that early? |
Wasn’t the question whether it’s ok for children to celebrate this day in ES? That implies six yr olds, yes? I think it’s ok. Do you? |
Sorry, I meant to say international lesbian day, October 8. |
Sure, are you going to ask them ? Or impose it? |
Are you? Since you think it’s ok. |
Sure you did. |
| We have six pages of a thread about a nonexistent issue. OP has not explained how the school is celebrating this and it doesn’t seem like they are. OP says it’s listed on a calendar (it’s on a *Saturday*) and was mentioned in an email. That doesn’t add up to a celebration. |
Communicated and highlighted in email sent by head of school. |
Yes, I thinks it’s very healthy for my kids to start thinking about their gender orientation at 6. |

6yo: Mommy whats coming out day?
Me: some kids and young adults sometimes have a hard time telling their parents/family they’re gay. This day can help them feel empowered to do that which can be a huge relief for them to not have to hide who they are Conversation over. It’s not hard. |
That is still not a celebration. And does y I love students at all. |
|
^does not involve students at all.
I should not type while snacking. |
